Inter will take step towards title
Saturday sees the Derby della Mole take place, as Torino host Juventus.
Torino are ninth in Serie A. They lost 3-2 at Empoli last weekend, ending a four match unbeaten run (W2 D2). Their defensive record at home suggests that they could make things difficult for their rivals, having kept five clean sheets from their last six games at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.
Juventus have been in poor form of late, but there is hope that they are turning a corner. They won 1-0 against Fiorentina last weekend, which followed a 2-0 win against Lazio in the first-leg of their Coppa America semi-final against Lazio.
Yet it is hard to have too much faith in the Old Lady on the road, with the side having not won any of their last four away games (D1 L3). Steer clear of the result and combine over 3.5 cards with under 2.5 goals at 5/61.84.
Napoli and Frosinone are both in need of points when they meet on Sunday.
The hosts won 4-2 at Monza last weekend, which ended a run of four games without a victory (D2 L2). They are currently seventh in Serie A, which could well end up being enough to qualify for Europe if Italian clubs are awarded the fifth place in next season's Champions League.
Yet, with Lazio only two points behind them, Napoli cannot afford to take anything for granted.
Frosinone are in the relegation zone in 18th position, having failed to win any of their last ten games (D4 L6). They have claimed valuable points with draws against Genoa and Bologna in their last two games, which gives them some hope of mounting a revival.
Four of Frosinone's last five games have seen less than three goals scored, so take a chance on under 2.5 goals at 13/82.63.
Udinese are another team fighting against relegation and they face a tough home match against in-form Roma.
Currently 15th in the table, only two points separate Udinese from the relegation zone. Last weekend they came close to getting a positive result against Inter, only for the league leaders to come from behind to win 2-1. It was the seventh successive home game in Serie A that Udinese have failed to win (D3 L4).
One has to assume that run will be extended against a Roma side that have just pulled off a massive result. On Thursday, the club from the capital won 1-0 at AC Milan in the first-leg of their Europa League quarter-final.
Though we must expect another Roma victory, everything points to it being tight. Udinese are not losing by big margins and the visitors' last three wins have come from 1-0 scorelines. Back a Roma win and under 3.5 goals at 9/52.80.
Inter have the chance to take a big step towards securing the Scudetto when they take on Cagliari at the San Siro.
They are 14 points clear at the top of Serie A, with 21 points left on the table. Should results go their way, it is possible that they could win the league next weekend, in the Milan derby.
For all that, however, it is fair to say that Inter do not look quite the force they were, prior to their Champions League exit against Atletico Madrid. Since then, they have drawn at home to Napoli and only narrowly beaten Empoli and Udinese.
Cagliari are fighting hard against relegation. Their 2-1 win against Atalanta last weekend was their third victory from their last five games (D1 L1), which leaves them in 13th place, four points clear of the relegation zone. We have to expect Inter to win, but Cagliari look capable to putting up a fight. Back a home win and both teams to score at 6/42.50.
