Football Bet of the Day: Nurnberg can't hassle the Hoff

Hoffenheim coach Julian Nagelsmann
Julian Nagelsmann's Hoffenheim are still pushing for Europe

Kev's aiming for a winning end to the week, and we're going back to Germany.

"Hoffenheim have consistently dismantled the relegation battlers, and they beat Hannover 3-0 in their last home game."

Nurnberg to keep on sliding

Our LA story wasn't a happy one last night, as the Galaxy suffered a 2-0 defeat at FC Dallas. No Zlatan, no party.

We finish the week in Germany, as Hoffenheim take on rock-bottom Nurnberg. Hoffenheim's bid for a Europa League spot has lost momentum because of too many draws, but if Julian Nagelsmann's side can be relied on to do anything, it's to duff up the relegation battlers.

TSG have secured home wins this season against Hannover, Augsburg and Stuttgart, who make up three of the current bottom four. When they went to face Nurnberg in Franconia back in September, they ran out comfortable 3-1 winners.

Nurnberg haven't won a league game since late September, and they have lost 11 of their last 14 top-flight outings. On their travels they have collected a feeble two points from an available 33, and six of their nine away defeats have been by a margin of two goals or more, including a 7-0, a 6-0, a 5-2 and a 3-0.

Hoffenheim know they're approaching the last chance saloon when it comes to putting a winning run together, and having watched them beat Hannover 3-0 in their last home game, I'm expecting something similar here.
