Paul Higham is backing 11/82.38 Bayern Munich to do the double over Real Madrid, while under pressure Arsenal will go back to basics to grind out a 13/102.30 victory at the Emirates.

Bayern Munich are 1/101.10 to make the semi-finals after their win in the Bernabeu and they're favourites at 4/71.57 to win the second leg too at the Allianz Arena, where they've won 22 of the last 28 (D5 L1) home Champions League games. That one defeat did come at this stage last year though.

Real Madrid lost at Mallorca and drew with Girono either side of that Bayern defeat so are in a bit of a blip, meaning they're 18/54.60 to win in Munich and 13/27.50 to get through. You can never rule out Real Madrid who've won 12 of the past 13 quarter-finals.

But Bayern look the real deal this year and with Real's recent results and their recent record after losing a home first leg, it doesn't inspire confidence, even though Bayern will give them chances and likely a goal. The Bavarians have conceded in seven of their last nine wins.

Real have scored in all but two away games this season so this one could have a few goals in, but I just expect it to go a similar way to the first leg. We'll back a repeat with the Germans winning and goals at both ends.

Player-wise we've got all the usual suspects and short prices, and although it's also not a huge price the 11/43.75 on Harry Kane to score 2+ goals is worth a look. He's scored in four home Champions League games this season - three of them have seen him score twice.

Arsenal v Sporting Lisbon Tip - Gunners to grind out victory

Arsenal are feeling the heat and an early Sporting goal here would be interesting, but the Gunners are massive 1/251.04 favourites to progress after getting a late winner in Lisbon last week. Whether Mikel Arteta goes to actually win the game, priced up at 4/91.44, or is happy to play out a 7/24.50 draw will give an indication of how the nerves are taking hold.

Sporting are 6/17.00 to win the second leg which they are capable of, but it'd be a shock if they qualified as 10/111.00 outsiders and I can see Arsenal just shutting up shop here and hoping for a goal at some point to settle the tie.

The visitors have only failed to score in one away game this season, but both teams to score here is still 1/12.00 as Arsenal lead the competition with seven clean sheets and this could be a back to basics operation for Arteta. He's certainly not the type to send his side flying out of the traps to kill it off quickly and risk getting caught.

But given the quality gap, Arsenal's set piece strength and being at home there's no reason why Arsenal can't pinch the win - if they score first that'll likely be that.
