Timeform Daily: CE Property Services Group Handicap (5), Monday October 5, Warwick, 4.50
Race of the Day Preview

Only eight runners but most of them like to race prominently and this could be a real burn up. Sham Sheer looks on a good mark back on turf though and looks the one to capitalise, however the race is run. Lordship and Bere Davis are others to consider.
"West End Lad was successful three times this year, but signs of late that the handicapper has him in his grip and the presence of other front runners is a concern this time."
Cheam Forever is a headstrong sort who returned to form with a bang, snapping up a brace of handicaps in July/August and improved again in headgear last time. Likely to get taken on here but respected.
Bere Davis is a front runner who landed his first race since his debut in game style in May. Third back at Thirsk gives him a chance here but he didn't appreciate being held up last time.
West End Lad was successful three times this year, but signs of late that the handicapper has him in his grip and the presence of other front runners is a concern this time.
Muftarres was a winner twice for Sir Michael Stoute in 2008 and has shown the odd bit of encouragement this year. Better effort over seven furlongs last time but this trip is an unknown.
Darcey had a hat-trick thwarted by heavy ground, but bounced back with even better effort to score in a seller (left Richard Fahey for 9,000) at Yarmouth last month. Well held on first run for new stable.
Very Well Red is a strong-travelling front runner who was back to her very best when scoring at Bath in June. However, she appears to be in the handicapper's grip judged on her last few efforts.
Sham Sheer was gelded and back to form after a six-week break when opening his account in a handicap at Folkestone. He followed up at Wolverhampton last time and is able to race off a lower mark back on turf.
Lordship is a free-going sort who ended a long losing run at Ayr in August and then followed up under a penalty at Chepstow next time. Higher in the weights now but clearly thriving at present.
