The racing experts at Timeform have three tips for Sunday's racing at Goodwood and Perth including one that was a big eye-catcher on British debut...

16:10, Goodwood - Hermetic made pleasing British debut

Hermetic was progressive when trained in France last year, winning two of his four starts, and running his best race in defeat in a minor event at Angers in soft ground in November.

He was purchased by new connections for €105,000 and made a most encouraging debut for Ian Williams in a competitive handicap over a mile and a half at York last month, leading three furlongs out but not having the pace to go with the principals in the closing stages.

Given his best form in France came over further, he was given the Horse In Focus Flag with the view to stepping up in trip, and he should be seen in a much better light now back up to two miles. A big gelding, the type to carry condition, he should strip fitter for that outing now, and he looks one who has been handed a workable mark from the handicapper.

16:27, Perth - Light N Strike building up to something

This looks a good race, but Light N Strike took a step back in the right direction after a break at Newton Abbot last month, and he's becoming too well handicapped to ignore now.

He was a useful, multiple winner for Emma Lavelle and, while his first two starts for Mickey Bowen weren't so inspiring, he ran his most encouraging race for the yard last time, still in contention on the home turn before a six-month absence seemingly took its toll.

Light N Strike was given the Horse In Focus Flag, nominating him as a horse to look out for and, with that run likely to have brought him forward, he's one to be positive about now having dropped 2lb below his last winning mark.

17:20, Goodwood - Blue Prince now well-treated

Blue Prince arrives on a lengthy losing run, his last win coming over this course and distance just under two year's ago, but he's now down to an attractive mark, and ran his best race for a while when third at Kempton last month.

That was his first run for seven months, and he did the best of those who were held up, making good headway on the inside over a furlong out and only beaten a length.

The pace was sound, but the winner made all and the runner-up was never far away, so for Blue Prince to make up the ground he did was noteworthy and, given his last win came from a mark of 89, he's potentially thrown in.
