A tight four-runner contest to kick off proceedings at Aintree. All four of the runners have claims, especially Risky Obsession, who was six in the Aintree Bumper and gets weight from main market rivals. But I was taken by Watery Borren on rules debut at Carlisle.
This one time raced three mile point-to-point winner was weak in the market, but made all for a comfortable 12-lengths hurdles victory. The Skeltons had the 4/51.80 favourite Push The Limit back in third that day and they may again be playing for places if there is any improvement from Watery Borren.
The penalty of course makes life tougher for Watery Borren, but he has the hurdle experience, and that debut win was impressive, so he may be hard to peg back, and offers value.

The three runners in this race are all likely to rate higher in their new chasing roles. Royal Infantry won well last time out at Hexham in another three-runner contest. Intosomethinggood won fair and square on chase debut, also. But both give 5lb to decent hurdler Klimt Madrik.
He was runner-up in the Grade 1 Challow Hurdle at Newbury last season behind Betfair ambassador Paul Nicholls' talented No Drama This End, beaten just over one-length. He was then eighth of 21 in the Grade 1 Turners Novice at the Cheltenham Festival, a race that has thrown up multiple subsequent Grade 1 winners, and the form was strongly franked last season.
He ran a solid chase debut last time on seasonal return when runner-up to the Skelton's Talk To The Man. He jumped well enough, and come home strongly, pulling away from some decent types.
Hopefully that has brought him forward again and the experience is not lost. He was the best of these over hurdles and hopefully can see his two rivals off here.

Mirabad is a Grade 1 winning chaser over course and distance. He reportedly wanted better ground when springing a surprise here in the Maghull Novice Chase at odds of 50/151.00. But he went to Carlisle recently in a Listed hurdle as a pipe-opener for this race when running Wilful to less than a length, closing at the line with the likes of Grade 1 Champion Hurdler Golden Ace in behind.
JPR One comes here after a tidy Cheltenham win off top-weight last time out, and has won this race before when at Exeter. But he has to give Mirabad 6lbs and hopefully Harry Skelton can stalk and pounce late to land the spoils.

I was also taken by the return of Brookie last weekend at Ascot. He was held up and stayed on strongly to run on for fourth. He, himself, was a runner-up in the Grade 1 Maghull two years ago, so has course and distance form.
He gets plenty of weight here, so could be one to come home strongly, also. At a nice price, he's worth a saver.

A smooth ride from last to first, and produced to win after the last, was a great introduction to team Skelton for Here Comes Georgie. He joined from Dylan Cunha for a first stable start at Cheltenham and a comfortable success earned him a 7lb rise.
But he had won off a mark off 125, and was just touched off this time last year off 127, so the new 130 mark doesn't look too harsh. The team is going great guns and this would be a big pot to pick up.
