"Boasting a superb middle-distance pedigree-his dam Ramruma won the Oaks, Irish Oaks and Yorkshire Oaks-Flying Cross looks an exciting prospect and a possible Derby candidate."
Aidan O'Brien's got another Derby contender say Timeform
Aidan O'Brien has sent out a succession of highly promising juveniles in the past couple of months, much in the same fashion as Saeed bin Suroor in Britain, causing him to almost monopolise the late-season maiden events in Ireland.
One who particularly caught the eye was a colt named Flying Cross, who quickened up impressively to land a mile maiden at Navan on his second outing, having made an encouraging debut there earlier in the month. There were still significant signs of greenness under pressure, promising considerable improvement, a particularly noteworthy point considering the fact that the son of Sadler's Wells produced a useful display on the bare form.
