Timeform take a close look at six horses of great promise...
Empowered was beaten at odds on last weekend but gave the impression that there's more to come. Having just his third run despite being a four-year-old, this half-brother to Derby winner Authorised found the thriving Ahlawy too quick for him. He is almost certainly going to improve for a step up in trip and definitely has the potential to be a lot better than his handicap mark. W. J. Haggas
Ruler of All is clearly well regarded with both Dante and Derby entries, and though at this stage those entries look optimistic, there's no doubt that he is better than what he has shown so far. Far too green to show his true worth on his two-year-old debut, the son of Saddlers Wells made his seasonal reappearance last weekend in what looked a strong maiden. Still green, Ruler of All showed improved form to chase home the fairly useful (at least) Rafaan, staying on stoutly inside the final furlong under a considerate ride. He is still learning but shapes as though having plenty of talent, and rates as one to keep on the right side, especially when tackling a mile-and-a-half. B. W. Hills
Implication was an unlucky loser when second to Full of Love at Newcastle last Saturday. Making her seasonal reappearance having shown little on her only run last year, she travelled smoothly through the race before finding herself short of room at a crucial stage; when in the clear, she stayed on strongly and was closing quickly at the finish. There is undoubtedly more to come from her, and she should have no trouble winning a maiden before moving on to better things. E. A. L. Dunlop
Kargali hadn't been seen since winning a minor event at Killarney last August and took the step up in grade in his stride when third in the Group 3 Gladness Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday. He was a bit free early but kept on well under hands and heels having briefly looked outpaced three furlongs out. He isn't as stoutly bred as a lot of his owner's stock but looks well worth a try at beyond a mile and can prove even better than the smart form he's shown so far. John M. Oxx
Princeton Plains made a most encouraging debut at the Curragh on Sunday and should have little trouble winning a maiden, at least. He found himself last coming into the straight but stayed on really well when switched to the outside, under hands and heels, to take third close home. The form of the race itself should prove very strong as a whole, and should throw up plenty of winners. Princeton Plains should have no trouble staying a mile-and-a-half and rates as the brightest prospect in the race. E. P. Harty
Red Jazz looks to be an early season two-year-old worth following. Clearly well fancied to take this Windsor maiden on his racecourse debut, the speedy son of Johannesburg produced a professional performance to rout the field, and he was probably value for more than the five lengths winning margin, ridden out under hands and heels, and eased close home. He is likely to take in a minor event at the Craven meeting, and it's hard to envisage him tasting defeat there. B. W. Hills
