Horses In Focus: Three to watch
Timeform run the rule over three horses which could go on to bigger things...
I'moncloudnine didn't quite show the expected improvement to follow up his Hereford win just four days later at Taunton on the 30th December. He jumped and travelled sweetly on the whole before staying on one paced before two out, giving the impression he may do better still, possibly back over further. N. P. Mulholland.
Tony Martin's Elbow High is very much one for the notebook after an eye-catching return to action. He was a winner at three miles from just two starts in maiden hurdles previously and was never likely to be suited by the drop to two miles, something compounded by an unenterprising ride and a couple of sloppy jumps. He did however make significant late headway having not been asked for his effort until two out when still well back. There should be significantly more to come from Elbow High in due course. A. J. Martin.
Ruby Crown did well to win Folkestone on the 2nd January and is a horse whose running style could keep her ahead of the handicapper for a while yet. She was chopped for room at several stages and left in a poor position when things were taking shape on the home turn before staying on strongly to lead close home. Ruby Crown was clearly more superior on the day than the bare margins suggest and should continue to give a good account. K. C. Bailey.
