Hugo Rodallega hadn't scored all season until finding form this month
"There are reports that QPR have offered £4 million for Rodallega, though Wigan are vowing not to do business for less than £6 million."
Wigan and Bolton face difficult decisions over the futures of front men Hugo Rodallega and Kevin Davies, amidst apparent interest from QPR and Sunderland respectively...
Hugo Rodallega's refusal to sign a contract extension has left Wigan with a huge dilemma: make some money by selling their top scorer over the last two seasons now, potentially weakening their survival chances, or let him leave for free in the summer.
The Colombian forward was alleged to have fallen out with boss Roberto Martinez earlier in the campaign, claims that were denied, and has started less than half of their Premier League games, but has been picked for each of the last four and reacted with two goals.
Despite that, rumours of a departure this month persist, and making the decision even more complicated for the bottom club [[1.27] to go down] is the fact that it is a side just five points better off who are believed to be his biggest admirers, QPR [[3.15]].
Mark Hughes' new employers have been busy in the transfer market since his arrival, bringing in defenders Nedum Onuoha and Taye Taiwo and attempting numerous other deals.
Problems completing a move for Brazilian youngster Henrique have forced the Hoops to consider other options up front and there are reports that they have offered £4 million for Rodallega, though Wigan are vowing not to do business for less than £6 million.
Regardless of whether he stays or goes, the Latics are thought to be trying to capture a striker, however one-time target Nicky Maynard of Bristol City, who some suggest snubbed a DW Stadium switch, is now being linked with Everton.
Elsewhere in the danger zone, Bolton - [2.04] for the drop following their 3-1 victory over Liverpool last week - could face a similarly tough call to Wigan as stories about Sunderland's interest in captain Kevin Davies become more frequent.
The veteran hasn't started a Premier League fixture since Christmas, but manager Owen Coyle has responded to speculation that he will be sold by stressing his importance to the club even when not featuring frequently.
