Four Royal Ascot Sportsbook Extra Place Specials today with a huge six places on offer for the Hunt Cup at 17:00, and remember you can play two to place, or three as a multiple on the Sportsbook in the same race.
Reach For The Moon 9/110.00 out to 11/112.00 will be out to give Frankie Dettori a win in the big handicap, that he first won in 2001 with Surprise Encounter. The Italian's last victory in the race came in 2010 with Invisible Man.
High draws look favoured in terms of the betting with the top eight in the market drawn in 30, 8, 31, 12, 11, 32, 29, 14.
Jimi Hendrix was a drifter this morning from 16/117.00 out to 25/126.00. Likewise Orbaan from 20/121.00 out to 33/134.00.
Perotto & Intellogent To Finish 1-2 In Any Order In The 17:00 Royal Ascot is the Sportsbook OddsBoost at 20/121.00.
The 14:30 Royal Ascot Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes has 28 runners and another minefield with the flying fillies set to charge down the straight.
Beautiful Diamond for Karl Burke will be pretty strong in the market for the opener, and the 360k breeze-up buy looked very good winning on her debut at Nottingham just two weeks ago.
Out Of The Stars 10/111.00 goes for Archie Watson who struck with Bradsell yesterday in the King's Stand and once again the high draws are dominant in the betting this morning with the first five in the market housed in 17, 19, 18, 15, 28.
There's an OddsBoost from 16/117.00 to 20/121.00 on Beautiful Diamond To Win By 1 Length Or More & Relief Rally To Finish 2nd In The 14:30 Royal Ascot on the Sportsbook and Burke has fired in 15 2yo winners this season already.
15:05 Royal Ascot 1m Kensington Palace Fillies' Handicap is an Extra Place Special with 20 runners and now that Roger Charlton is back in some sort of form, his Discretion is a 20/121.00 outsider.
The 18:10 Windsor Castle Stakes (Listed Race) 5f is another 2yo puzzle to solve for punters and another Extra Place race on the Sportsbook.
Once again, the draw is dominated by high numbers with four of the top five in the market in double figures in a field of 20.
Maximum Impact is the Amo horse at 13/27.50, although Aidan O'Brien's Johannes Brahms 4/15.00 should have a bit more know-how after looking very green on his winning debut at Naas. O'Brien has won the race three times since 2015, with Little Big Bear and Washington DC in the list.
Stat Of The Day
Harry Eustace is 2-4 at Ascot this year at 50% and he has two runners today with Belhaven 20/121.00 in the 15:05 and Chasing Aphrodite 20/121.00 in the 17:00 Hunt Cup.
Horses for courses
This section highlights horses that have won twice or more at today's tracks and could be in with a chance today.
17:00 Royal Ascot: Tempus 22/123.00 has won here twice (40%), and Atrium 28/129.00 has won here twice (40%).
Form Watch
The peerless Ryan Moore was immaculate yesterday with his three winners that produced a treble and his 76th Royal Ascot winner.
Moore's mounts today are:
14:30 Royal Ascot: Balsam 14/115.00 to 16/117.00.
15:05 Royal Ascot: Crystal Caprice 6/17.00 to 8/19.00.
15:40 Royal Ascot: Jumbly 7/42.75 to 2/13.00.
16:20 Royal Ascot: Luxembourg 9/43.25 to 2/13.00.
17:00 Royal Ascot: Sonny Liston 20/121.00 to 16/117.00.
17:35 Royal Ascot: Peking Opera 6/17.00 to 5/16.00.
18:10 Royal Ascot: Johannes Brahms 4/15.00 to 10/34.33.
The Sportsbook four-timer on Jumbly, Luxembourg, Peking Opera and Johannes Brahms pays 233/1.
Trainer Owen Burrows has hit a good run of form and he's 3-7 in the last two weeks at 43%, and 6-15 at 40% in a month. He'll be looking for a Royal Ascot success with Tarrabb 15/28.50 - his only runner on the card today in the 15:05 1m Kensington Palace Fillies' Handicap.
Wesley Ward's two runners yesterday Fandoma and Twilight Gleaming were both well beaten finishing 11th and 16th in their respective races and a combined defeat of 22L.
The US trainer has Bundchen running in the opening 14:30 5f Queen Mary Stakes, although she has taken a massive walk in the betting from 10/111.00 out to 20/121.00 and I am sure the place layers are out to get her too.
Race of the day
The Group 1 1m2f Prince Of Wales's Stakes is the headline race for Wednesday and Luxembourg was very strong in the betting this morning from 5/23.50 into 15/82.88 and landed the Tattersalls Gold Cup under different tactics last time when making the running to beat Bridge.
Luxembourg has now won a Group 1 at two, three and four and another Moore masterclass from the front could be on the cards here with his rival Bay Bridge at 10/34.33.
Adayar was the brilliant Derby winner of 2021 at Epsom and the powerful son of Frankel had a nice prep last time at Sandown to put him spot on for this.
Charlie Appleby's form is still a worry, as all five of his runners yesterday were unplaced on Day 1. Appleby has been eager to get a 1m2f Group 1 into Adayar's CV.
My Prospero 7/24.50 finished fourth in the Lockinge last time on his return for the season, and he found the 1m trip on the sharp side there considering his possible lack of fitness.
He'll be much happier over 1m2f today, but has he got the class of Luxembourg?
Big Race Verdict
Considering Luxembourg was ridden differently last time and those tactics would be most welcome again for this, I don't see him as a lay at all. He was a top-class juvenile and should tremendous courage in seeing off Bay Bridge last time Ireland.
I think he can do the same again and he is the bet at 15/82.88. Indeed, during typing, Betfair boosted Luxembourg to 5/23.50! However, that boost is now closed and he is back available at 7/42.75.
Tony Calvin on Day 2 at Royal Ascot
Will it be a winning Wednesday for our star tipster Tony Calvin? Our man goes right through the day two racecard with a quintet of tips? Prices for TC's Day 2 picks range from 13/27.50 to 20/121.00 and you can click here to read Wednesday's tips.
You can also click here to read Kevin Blake's Day 2 tips with 4/1 and 8/1 selections.
Ryan Moore confident on Luxembourg chances
Betfair Ambassador Ryan Moore was in superb form yesterday with a sparkling treble on River Tiber, Paddington and Vauban and his chances today centre around Luxembourg in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes in his seven rides. Click here for Moore's latest preview column.
Two lays for the afternoon
Patrick Weaver picks two lays, an each-way, and a trade on the second day of the royal meeting and you can click here for his Day 2 thoughts.
Final Word
Where next for Vauban? Hopefully the Melbourne Cup, as he is now the 7/1 favourite for the Flemington race at the end of the year.
Imagine if Willie Mullins had a Flat team and was almost 50/50 like Alan King? Mullins does something that few others trainers do - and he thinks outside the box. Japan, America, Australia, he's always looking for something.
And after yesterday's defeat in the cricket, we need something to cheer about against those Aussies.
And will Rich Ricci cut his mullet by then?
