Newcastle, 13:45 - Back Love You More E/W @ 6/17.00

Love You More got off the mark in her penultimate race at Lingfield in a classified contest under Billy Loughnane, beating Nutcracker by half-a-length to make it 14th time lucky.

She had been luckless on occasion previously, catching the eye in defeat, and didn't get the run of things when returning to handicap company at Southwell last month. 

From an unchanged mark of 53, it could be worth keeping the four-year-old filly onside as she has proven she can win and could be capable of showing further progression still.

Bath, 14:30 - Back My Boy Jack E/W @ 15/28.50

Kevin and Lauren Frost-trained My Boy Jack was far from disgraced in a higher class competitive 16-runner handicap at Brighton recently despite finishing down the field, beaten four-lengths by eventual winner Giant.

He had previously finished fourth twice at the southern venue and in a Pontefract contest respectively, and, from a low mark, he could pose a threat under 7lb claiming Olivia Haines.

The seven-year-old gelding has put in competitive efforts from his current rating in the past and this could be his time to strike once again as he bids for a fourth win in his 89th start.

Newcastle, 15:15 - Back Orne E/W @ 5/16.00

In this 7f handicap, Orne holds solid claims for Antony Brittain and Cam Hardie as he bids to get off the mark for his current yard. He's winless since a Group Three success during his debut campaign for former trainer John Gosden when successful over Witness Stand in a Newmarket contest that also featured Ten Bob Tony.

Although he isn't quite performing to those levels these days, once rated as high as 103, the five-year-old gelding has shown useful form recently with creditable efforts in big field handicaps. He's dropping in class from a lenient rating of 71 which could allow him to strike once again and make a long-awaited return to the winners' enclosure.

Newcastle, 16:15 - Back Sunriseontheboyne E/W @ 11/112.00

Sunriseontheboyne is rated 6lb lower than when last recording a win in his final start for former trainer Michael Mulvany, returning a five-length victor at odds of 13/27.50 in a Listowel handicap under 3lb claiming Wesley Joyce.

He hasn't quite fired for Ben Haslam since then in seven starts this year, but has dropped from a mark of 84 down to 70 as a result, and could be capable of better having shown ability in the past.

It could be worth keeping the faith in the four-year-old gelding, who could find a resurgence for a yard among the winners of late.

Bath, 16:30 - Back Mbappe E/W @ 20/121.00

Although not quite as effective as his footballing namesake, Mbappe is a useful performer on his day and is one to note in this mile handicap. He's 8lb lower than his last winning Turf mark in the hands of Jack Callan, making appeal at the weights for Mark Loughnane.

The five-year-old gelding hasn't been seen to best effect so far this season but may be worth keeping the faith in. He won from a 2lb higher rating on the all-weather in January, following on from a close third in his prior run, proving he still remains capable of posing a threat.

Whilst further improvement is required on recent form, Mbappe could fare better in this contest from a workable rating.

Navan, 18:10 - Back Land Of The Giants @ 9/25.50

Calyx gelding Land Of The Giants makes each-way appeal from a mark of 57 back in handicap company for Ado McGuinness and Adam Caffrey, 6lb lower than when recording his sole career win at Ayr earlier this season. He has since run well in claimers but had previously gone close at Cork in a handicap when rated 2lb higher, and could make his presence felt in this field.

The four-year-old should be seen staying on well late in the closing stages over this mile trip, and could give a good account of himself at the weights in this Navan handicap.

Hamilton, 18:50 - Back Lily Pearl E/W @ 11/112.00

Three-year-old filly Lily Pearl is one to note each-way for the training partnership of Richard and Peter Fahey in this 6f handicap at Hamilton. She's only 3lb higher than when recording her sole career win to date on handicap debut at Pontefract last season, and has 5lb claiming Ethan Tindall in the plate as she bids to make it third time lucky for the year.

On reappearance in May, the daughter of Ardad shaped with promise when third to Betties Bay in the eight-runner Catterick contest, and was entitled to improve for her opening run of the new campaign. She couldn't build on the effort when last seen at Wetherby, but may be worth forgiving one disappointing showing having run consistently well in previous outings.

There could be more to come from Lily Pearl, who shouldn't be discounted as she bids to bounce back to form.

Navan, 19:10 - Back Exquisite Acclaim E/W @ 18/119.00

Exquisite Acclaim is 4lb lower than his last winning mark, when successful at Dundalk in January, and has 5lb claimer Sam Coen in the plate as he bids for a tenth career success in this mile handicap.

The likeable performer hasn't been seen to best effect lately, but did put in a bold bid when third at odds of 16/117.00 to Glory To Be in a Fairyhouse handicap earlier this summer, and could make the frame in this contest under an in-form rider.

The one-time winner on the Turf is most effective on an all-weather surface, but has proven on multiple occasions that he can perform in this sphere too. He holds solid claims from his current rating if he can improve on his latest efforts, and should be capable of putting in a threatening performance if on a going day.
