Come On Teddy makes his reappearance in the amateur jockeys' handicap chase (13:10) and starts the new campaign on what could be a lenient mark for his new trainer Harry Derham.
Third in the Pertemps Final in his younger days, he showed useful form as a novice chaser but wasn't at his best last term when reverting to hurdles following a lengthy absence. He did have one run over fences at the end of last season and showed definite signs of a revival over an inadequate trip at Exeter which turned out to be his final start for Tom George.
Back up in trip, Come On Teddy looks interesting for his new yard having slipped in the weights - he's 3 lb clear on Timeform weight-adjusted ratings - and it looks significant that top Irish amateur Barry O'Neill has been booked for the ride.

Rock On Tommy goes very well at Uttoxeter and bids for his fourth course-and-distance win there in the two-mile handicap hurdle (15:03). He'll be partnered again by conditional Lewis Stones who was in the saddle for his last couple of course victories which came in the summer of 2023.
Rock On Tommy returned to form back at the same track this summer where he was placed in his last couple of starts and again shaped as though his turn was near when runner-up to Daany last time, giving the impression he'd have been suited by a stronger gallop.
He returns from a four-month break with more in his favour besides his fine track record. Olly Murphy's stable is in very good form and Rock On Tommy is well handicapped these days too, heading the Timeform weight-adjusted ratings by 1 lb.

Tony Martin won Cheltenham's intermediate handicap hurdle (15:30) with Unanswered a couple of years ago and fields a fascinating contender in the same race again with Hamsiyann lurking near the foot of the weights.
Only a four-year-old, Hamsiyann showed progressive form in a handful of starts last season and was unlucky not to go closer still on his last run over hurdles when third to Royal Way in a juvenile handicap at Ascot after being squeezed out on the run-in when still in with a chance. Hamsiyann's only appearance since then came back on the Flat in May when he finished second to stablemate Alphonse Le Grande, reinstated as the Cesarewitch winner earlier this week, in the Chester Plate.
That was a much-improved effort from Hamsiyann stepping up in trip and points to him being equally well suited by trying this longer distance over hurdles. The only four-year-old in the field, unexposed and with just 10-2 on his back, Hamsiyann is very much of interest, topping the Timeform weight-adjusted ratings by 1 lb.
