Saturday horse racing tips and insight
"Nicky Henderson is starting to kick into gear now that the new season is under way and I'm taking his useful hurdler Impose Toi to defy top weight in this handicap. Still relatively lightly raced, Impose Toi produced a career best when last season at Punchestown in May, finishing runner-up to Hey Sunshine. Given his trainer, there should be no issue with his fitness as he returns following a six-month break.
"The selection does need to prove his stamina for 3m upped to that trip for the first time, but at a course that places the emphasis on speed more than most, I don't have too many concerns in that regard."

Course-and-distance winner Spycatcher was hugely impressive in Group Three company at Chantilly when last seen, streaking away from his rivals in softer conditions to record a four-and-a-half-length success over the reopposing Navassa Island.
He returns to Listed company here for the first time since recording his previous win at this venue, and holds solid claims despite having to reverse form with Montassib...
A solid performer, Spycatcher was only narrowly denied by Art Power in his penultimate start at the Curragh, running a good race at odds of 9/110.00 on that occasion. He is a versatile performer but is suited by softer conditions and has plenty in his favour as he bids for a ninth career win in this 6f sprint.

Jubilee Alpha was a smart bumper horse two seasons ago when winning at Wincanton on debut. She then finished second to the talented Diva Luna in the Grade 2 bumper at the Aintree Grand National meeting. She made her hurdles debut at Newbury in November that year, in Listed company, when running a solid race in third less than two lengths behind the winner...
She makes her seasonal debut in a lesser handicap hurdle and, although she has to tackle top weight, the ground should be no issue if not overly quick. She should prove a class above this field in a race that Paul Nicholls really wants to win.

Faye Bromley has already enjoyed some success with a former Closutton contender this season, and could find some luck with Glengouly, also formerly trained by Willie Mullins, in this contest.
The nine-year-old gelding is partnered by Sean Bowen, who has a 100% success-rate aboard the yard's runners with one winner from one ride for the trainer in the past. The champion jockey is a noteworthy jockey booking aboard a horse who makes his second appearance following wind surgery and is re-equipped with a tongue-tie plus has the addition of cheekpieces for the first time.

The cornerstone of King Turgeon's victories last year following his second wind surgery were undoubtedly his jumping which ranked highly on the RaceIQ jumping data. A jump index of 8.8 (Chepstow), 8.6 (in this race 12 months ago) and 9.0 at Cheltenham in a premier staying handicap all showcased the seven-year-old's fine technique and contributed to him completing a rapid pre-Christmas hat-trick.
Given the son of Turgeon clearly has physical frailties, it seems notable that has he an excellent record fresh with his stats following a break of more than 11 weeks reading 121 with the defeat sustained by less than a length under a conditional rider.

He's going for the hat-trick in this race which I love and have won nine times. This year it has cut up a bit because of the ground. He loves decent ground like Kempton the other day. He loves a flat-track, right handed, so God willing he will jump well and run as well as normal. He beat the Champion Hurdle second the last time. He will be hard to beat here. I haven't got a plan for him, to be honest. He is probably best to go chasing.
During 2025 the nine-year-old Art of Diplomacy has been a rapid improver winning a Handicap Chase over 3m2f off a mark of 111 at Newton Abbot in June and has since gone on to land four more races. He has been placed really well by his trainer Mickey Bowen but racking up five wins on the spin before last time out's fall, and now racing off a mark of 137, is brilliant training performance.
"Last time out, he would have made it six wins on the spin if not for that fall at the last when clear of the field. He gets to race off the same mark on Saturday, loves good ground, and has stamina in abundance over these sorts of trips. If the fall at Chepstow has not dented his confidence, he should keep on improving and might prove tough to beat."

I am sticking to my guns with Hot Fuss, as the ground has come right for him and he's unexposed and still off a tempting mark. Lord Melbourne has to be on the shortlist purely on his victory 12 months ago and he was ever so impressive last time, and considering he's been out just once this season, he is fresher than most. Dace's claim is also appealing.
Chemistry as a big outsider at 40/141.00 could be a flyer with the six places. He stays further than 1m4f and this should be run at a good gallop with the amount of front-runners involved, and he is one of them. His second in the Petingo gives him more than a chance that his price suggests and he should come on for Pontefract last time. Stressfree is another who might enjoy the pace set-up with a gallop to aim at as he stays a little further and has form on good to soft. His mark however from 103 will be a tough one to win from.
