Get the best bets and insight for Saturday at Goodwood and Galway as Ryan Moore, Joseph O'Brien, Kevin Blake and Mark Milligan discuss the action.
"He is drawn high and might well be able to get the lead to himself to some extent. If he isn't hassled too much, it wouldn't be at all surprising to see him run a big race."
Mark Milligan puts his money on Dermot Weld's winning week continuing at Galway on Saturday and recommends a bet at Newmarket.
Mark says: "Dermot Weld's team have been in flying form this week at Galway, with the Rosewell House trainer saddling several winners, while numerous others have made the frame. There are a couple of Weld's runners that catch my eye on the penultimate day of the festival and hopefully both can give us a good run for our money.
"The first one to take a look at is the once-raced Fastnet Rock filly Sherkin Island, who runs in the Irish Independent On Saturday Maiden at 13:25. She shaped with a deal of promise when third to the subsequently demoted Citronnade in heavy ground at the Curragh in May and looks a filly with a future.
"That form was given a big boost when Citronnade took a handicap at this track earlier in the week and natural progression will make Sherkin Island tough to beat from a good draw in stall three."
A big Saturday sees runners at Galway, Newmarket and Goodwood for Joseph O'Brien. Get the lowdown on the full team, including Traisha.
Joseph says: "Traisha is a filly that improved a lot last season, eventually winning a Listed race at Bath. Getting more black type for her is the goal for this season and outside of the big two, she is in the right sort of zone in rating terms. Conditions will suit and hopefully she'll run well."
Ryan Moore has six booked rides on the final day of Glorious Goodwood including a decent chance on a horse who finished sixth in last year's Stewards' Cup...
Ryan says: "He was rated 103 when sixth in this race last season and he races off 100 here, so he has his chance. It would have obviously been better had he been able to race off his current rating of 97, but he hasn't been running badly in defeat lately. He handles soft but drying ground is probably what he wants."
Kevin Blake recommends two bets for the final day at Goodwood including Ryan Moore's ride in the big race of the weekend.
Kevin says: "The four-year-old Meraas did an awful lot in a very short space of time last season, making the running and finishing sixth in this race off a mark of 103 on what was just his sixth career start and less than five months into his Covid-interrupted racing career. That effort stamped him as a smart sprinter in the making, but he has hit a couple of bumps since then and had a breathing operation over the winter.
"While his two runs this season have been short of his best, one suspects his connections may well have had this race in mind for him all season. He is drawn high and might well be able to get the lead to himself to some extent. If he isn't hassled too much, it wouldn't be at all surprising to see him run a big race."
