Frankel is a retired racehorse who finished his career unbeaten in 14 starts on the racecourse. He is regarded by many as one of the greatest horses of all time.

One of the highlights of his career was a Classic success in the 2000 Guineas, Frankel blowing away the field in a front-running display at Newmarket by six lengths.

He is now retired to stud at Banstead Manor Stud. In 2013, his stud fee was set at £125,000, and he has been in hot demand since retiring.

Frankel's career on the track began in August 2011. He started out in a maiden at Newmarket where he actually beat Nathaniel and Colour Vision, two Group One winners of the future.

After a success at Doncaster, he won his first Group race at Ascot in the Royal Lodge Stakes. His final run in 2011 came in the Group One Dewhurst Stakes as he staked his claims to be regarded as one of the most exciting colts for 2012.

Frankel's opening run as a three-year old came in the Greenham Stakes at Newbury. That was his warm up outing ahead of the 2000 Guineas, where he was heavy ante-post favourite. Sir Henry Cecil's colt justified that price tag by producing one of the most dominant performances in the history of the English Classics.

Success followed for the three-year-old at Royal Ascot, when he gave connections a brief scare as he just held onto the win in the St James's Palace Stakes.

At Glorious Goodwood that year, a clash with Canford Cliffs was being built up as one of the most anticipated clashes in recent years. Frankel proved his class and just how special he was by beating the five-time Group One winner by five lengths.

His three-year-old campaign ended on British Champions day at Ascot as he extended his run by scoring in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes, where Excelebration chased him home.
In what proved to be his final season in training, Frankel ran on five different occasions. There were emphatic victories in the Lockinge at Newbury, Queen Anne at Royal Ascot, and Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.

One of the biggest tests of his career came at York in the Juddmonte International where he stepped up in distance to 1m2f for the very first time. He was able to pass the challenge and his seven-length victory suggested he enjoyed the trip.

The public were able to say goodbye to Frankel on a racecourse in the Champion Stakes. Cecil's stable star ensured he remained unbeaten by holding off the challenge of Cirrus Des Aigles. His trainer went on record after the race as saying he was the best he had ever trained.
