The brilliance of Betfair ambassador Rachael Blackmore was once again key to a big win for a punter at Cheltenham on Thursday.

The lucky bettor scooped a quick-fire £3.6K with a patent bet - a multiple which places seven bets on three selections - by correctly picking the winners of opening three races for an outlay of just £21.

It was another Betfair Ambassador, Paul Nicholls, whose Stage Star got the multiple off to a great start when he won the Turners Novices' Chase.

After that Good Time Jonny came good in the Pertemps meaning it was two down and one to go.

Blackmore had already helped a Betfair punter score a big win on day one but taking on the mighty Shishkin in the Ryanair looked a tough ask.

The much fancied favourite never really hit his stride, however, and Envoi Allen kicked clear to win a famous victory and see our punter collect a big sum with less than half the afternoon complete.

It all bodes well for what should be a wonderful final day as Nicholls and Blackmore both go for glory in the Gold Cup.
