The Swedish striker received the Golden Football award in 2012 and is the current captain of his country Sweden.

Ibrahimovic played youth team football for Malmo BI, FBK Balkan and Malmo FF, before representing the latter in their senior side in 1999.
After making an impact in the Swedish leagues, Ajax paid €8.7million for his services in July 2001.

At the Dutch club, he went on to score 35 goals in 74 appearances across a four-year period. He was able to win the Eredivisie in his first season, as well as the KNVB Cup.
The Swede moved to Italy in 2004 to play for Juventus after they signed him for €16million. He made an immediate impact for the Serie A side, scoring 15 goals in his debut season.

In 2006 Juventus were punished for their involvement in the Calciopoli scandal and as a result were relegated into Serie B. They also had the 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 Scudettos removed from them, which the striker helped them to win. Ibrahimovic wanted to stay in the top flight of Italian football so Juve agreed to sell him to Internazionale for €24.8million on August 10, 2006.

His spell at Inter was one of the most successful of his career so far. In 111 games, he found the back of the net on 66 occasions. Three consecutive Serie A titles went the Milan club's way from 2006 to 2009.

Ibrahimovic could not turn down the chance to play for Barcelona when they came in for him in July 2009. The deal was worth in the region of €66million for Inter as they received Samuel Eto'o in their direction.

It proved to be a short spell at the La Liga club for the Swede but he did win the league title in Spain in his sole season there. It was rumoured that he had clashed with coach Pep Guardiola.

Ibrahimovic was given the chance to return to Italy when Milan came in for him. He won Serie A once again in 2011, while the following season he notched up 28 league goals in 32 games.

Since 2012, the eight-time Guldbollen winner has been playing his football in France for Paris Saint-Germain. He helped them secure Ligue 1 in 2013.
