Barcelona favourites to sign Messi when he leaves PSG in summer

Barcelona are odds-on to bring Lionel Messi back to Camp Nou but top Premier League clubs may also be interested after it was reported that his departure from Paris Saint-Germain this summer is all but certain.

He is 4/6 to return to the club he played for from 2004 to 2021. He is in his second season with the French champions but has fallen out of love with life at the club.

A move to any Saudi Arabian Pro League team is 2/1 while he is 9/1 to join Inter Miami.

Manchester City 16/1 are the shortest price of any Premier League team. If he were to go there Messi would be reunited with Pep Guardiola who managed him at Barcelona, winning the Champions League twice together.

Chelsea 20/1, Newcastle 25/1 and Manchester United 25/1 have also been linked with the star who lead his country to World Cup glory in December.

Messi suspended and contract won't be renewed

While winning the World Cup in 2022 will go down as one of the highlights of Messi's extraordinary career, he has not enjoyed this season with his club.

PSG were knocked out of the Champions League in the round of 16, he was subsequently booed by fans and today he was suspended for two weeks after an unauthorised trip for two days to Saudi Arabia.

It was reported by French paper L'Equipe today that his contract at PSG, which runs out in the summer, will not be renewed.

The question then is not whether Messi will leave the French club in the summer but where he will be playing next season. The betting shows that Barcelona is the most likely option.
