Wednesday Football Tips: Back a Brighton bookings Bet Builder at the Bridge

Adam Webster
Adam Webster could find himself in the book for Brighton against Chelsea

"Bissouma is just back from a ban after four bookings in six and will be a prime candidate for another, while Webster has three in nine games and has to try and deal with Romelu Lukaku."

Back Webster & Bissouma to be carded with Bet Builder at around 11.521/2.

Paul Higham has a value Bet Builder bookings double involving Brighton's game at Chelsea - where opposition players are booked more than most...

The Festive football continues to come thick and fast and on Wednesday we're off to Stamford Bridge as Chelsea look for another three points in their title challenge against Brighton.

The Seagulls have been a tough nut to crack on their travels this season with just one league defeat away from home - although they've only won twice as they've been dealing in draws mostly.

Anyway, the result's not important for us here in this column but what we're interested in is how the style of play will unfold and what props markets we should look at for the best value.

In this case it's the cards markets and in part it's because Graham Potter's side should make this a real contest going on what they've done away from home this season - plus they're a lot fresher than Chelsea in terms of games played this month, so will have plenty of legs.

Brighton are fifth in the league in terms of yellow cards being dished out with their 37 coming in at 2.18 per game - 19 of those coming in away games.

Thomas Tuchel's side have only been booked 12 times at home this season, but they lead the league in terms of opposition players getting booked against them with 46 overall - that's seven more than the next team on the list.

At Stamford Bridge visiting players have picked up 28 yellow cards, also a league high, so it's clear here we need to look at Brighton bookings and even backing them to get just three gives you an odds-against price of 2.35/4.

Since we've got Christmas to pay for though, we're looking for something with a bit more sauce on it, so we've picked out a couple of Brighton players that seem most likely to find their names into the book for a nicely-priced Bet Builder double.

First up is midfielder Yves Bissouma, who is returning from a ban for picking up five yellow cards - four of them coming in his last six games. Perhaps he was looking to have Boxing Day off this year...

He'll be fit and firing and ready to rumble and with his yellow card slate wiped clean he'll be flying around Stamford Bridge just asking for Mike Dean to book him - yes - it's Mike dean in charge!

Next up to bat for us is defender Adam Webster, who should keep his starting place from the win over Brentford with Lewis Dunk injured and Shane Duffy having Covid.

Webster was booked against Brentford, his third in just nine appearances, and will now likely line up against a returning Romelu Lukaku who looked a real handful with a goal-scoring 45 minute return from injury against Aston Villa.

Webster's worth a punt on his own at 4.216/5 on the exchange but back on the Sportsbook we're combining him with Bissouma for a tasty Bet Builder double.
