Tuesday Football Tips: Take shot at 7-1 treble in Spain

Shooting for profit looks the way to go in Tuesday's opening La Liga game.

Let's start with the improving hosts, who have now won seven and lost just two of their last 10 games in all competitions.

Former Liverpool star Alberto Moreno is perhaps best known for performing left-back duties but he's been pushed further forward of late and is expected to start on the left-hand side of midfield again here.

From that position Moreno - not to be confused with namesake Gerard who plays up front - has managed 2+ shots in four of his last six domestic games.

Here he comes up against a side among the five worst for shots conceded this season and therefore gets the nod as first pick.

I'll also throw in Pau Torres for 1+ shot. The central defender, a big threat on set plays, has managed this in 10 of his last 12 games and again there is good reason to think he'll repeat the trick here.

Only Levante and Cadiz have conceded more set-piece goals in La Liga this season than Alaves, while the visitors have given up more corners than anyone else and committed the third-most fouls.

In short, Villarreal should get plenty of dead-ball situations in order to get the ball to Torres.

Finally, what looks the riskiest part of the bet - backing Alaves' Luis Rioja to have 2+ shots.

The left midfielder has delivered on this front in four of his last five matches.

Admittedly Alaves' record on the road is pretty miserable - just one win so far - but they did record 14 shots recently at Granada, a team just three points worse off than Villarreal.

In total, the three-legged Bet Builder pays close to 7/1.
