Thursday Football Tips: Back Bayer's dynamic duo

One of the sexier ties in the Europa League takes place in Bergamo on Thursday as Atalanta v Bayer Leverkusen could turn out to be a cracker.

Both sides have the tag of entertainers and although Atalanta have slowed a bit and have some injuries, Bayer are proving lethal in front of goal.

Even without star striker Patrik Schick, Bayer are still full of goals thanks to Moussa Diaby and Florian Wirtz.

Diaby has 15 goals this season including seven in his last six while Wirtz is one of the top young stars in the Bundesliga with 10 goals and 13 assists in all competitions.

Wirtz scored three times and had three assists in five games during the Europa League group stages, and he'll again be the main man for Bayer in this first leg.

With hosts Atalanta a short-priced favourite then we get a nice boost in prices for the away players, even though mant fancy the Germans to come away with a posivie result in Italy.

Wirtz is a decent price for an assist and goal, but you can play if safe here and back him to have just one shot on target as the first leg of a Bet Builder double.

Couple it up with the more attacking Diaby to have 2+ shots on target - something he's managed eight times this season and twice in his last four.

Bayer are a good price just to emerge with the victory here, but regardless of the result, Diaby and Wirtz should have enough efforts on goal make a nice return.
