Xavi will hope Robert Lewandowski can score a couple for Barca

Paul Higham says Robert Lewandowski can come back with a bang for Barcelona as they face Real Betis in the Spanish Super Cup with a final spot against Real Madrid up for grabs...

The Spanish Super Cup is being played out in Saudi Arabia with the second semi-final taking place Thursday as Barcelona face Real Betis.

Real Madrid await in the final after beating Valencia on penalties on Wednesday night - just in case Barcelona needed any more motivation.

Xavi has already stated how much his first trophy with Barca would mean, especially if they could beat fierce rivals Real Madrid in Sunday's Supercopa final.

Cope del Rey winners Real Betis won't be a walkover though as they're fourth in the league and although they're 13 points behind leaders Barca, they did win at the Nou Camp last season.

That 1-0 win last season was the only one of the last eight meetings to see a clean sheet, as both teams have scored in the other seven, with Betis scoring in all eight contests.

And there's been plenty of goals in meetings between these two, with eight of the last nine seeing over 2.5 goals and in fact seven of those having over 3.5 goals.

You could even go further as goals have rained down in these fixtures, with five goals coming in four of the last nine games and even seven being knocked in three times. Overall the last nine meetings average five goals per game.

While we may not see another seven goals at the King Fahd Stadium in Riyadh, Robert Lewandowski returning from his league ban will help with backing over 3.5 goals at 13/8.

And it's that break and coming back with a point to prove that leads us to believe that this could be a game that Lewandowski manages to score twice in at 3/1.

He's scored multiple goals in six games this season, he's due another after his last came in October and Betis have a history of conceding a lot against Barca.

Xavi is desperate for a title, Real Madrid await in the final, and Manuel Pellegrini's side have form for letting in goals against them - the conditions are perfect for a high-scoring encounter.
