Paul Higham is backing Real Betis to build on their latest win with another at home to Rayo Vallecano - with William Carvalho expected to be involved for the wrong reasons.
-
Vallecano lost four of their last five away games
-
Carvalho gave away three fouls in last meeting with Rayo
-
Betis back in business
A vital win last time out put Real Betis back in business as they chase European football as they host a Rayo Vallecano side also just about in the picture.
Mauricio Pellegrini's Betis had looked nailed-on for the top four at one stage but have fallen away recently with four defeats in six leaving them instead scrapping for the Europa League spots.
Vallecano may be down in 11th but they're only six points off Betis and a win here would actually put them in the Europa Conference League spot in seventh.
Three wins from their last 11 home games is not the type of form you'd want if backing 10/11 favourites Betis here, but Rayo's four defeats in five away games shows why they're 10/3 outsiders.
Count on Carvalho for a foul
Of the two bad records, I'll trust Betis to make home comforts count and pinch another three points that will help their cause.
The teams haven't combined for too many goals lately, but we do have the fouls market to look at for the player props odds to include in our Bet Builder.
Starting with William Carvalho's price of 9/4 for 2+ fouls in the game - after recording three and getting booked in the reverse fixture.
The no-nonsense Portuguese midfielder has had a foul in eight of his last 12 games, and interestingly he's been alternating recently between keeping his nose clean and having multiple fouls.
So after drawing a blank against Bilbao he's due another multiple foul outing - and being reunited with Vallecano can only help.
