Friday Football Tips: Serbia to score a few in Bahrain warm-up

Serbia coach Dragan Stojkovic
Serbia coach Dragan Stojkovic wants to see his side smash a few in against Bahrain.

Aleksandar Mitrovic is still on the sidelines, however, that paves the way for Juventus's Dusan Vlahovic to lead the line who is 50/1 to win the Golden Boot in Qatar. He can be backed at EVS to score tonight in match where Serbia are 4/11. Read on for our 4/1 Bet Builder for tonight's match....

Serbia play their final warm-up game before kicking off their World Cup campaign against Bahrain on Friday, and they should be looking to bag a few goals to boost confidence.

Dragan Stojkovic's side have it all to do in Qatar as they face Brazil, Switzerland and Cameroon in their group, which will take a brilliant effort for them to just make it to the knockouts.

Serbia should be pretty confident having lost just twice in 15 games, topping their Nations League group and also finishing above Portugal during their unbeaten World Cup qualification campaign.

Aleksandar Mitrovic scored a last-minute winner in Lisbon to deny Portugal an automatic World Cup spot, but the Fulham forward is still dealing with injury so is unlikely to be risked.

Mitrovic to win the World Cup Golden Boot

50/1

Stojkovic will want his side to have a proper run-out though so he'll field as strong a line-up as possible against a Bahrain side that drew 2-2 with Canada last time out.

That may say more about the Canadians though as Bahrain previously had lost to Panama and Cape Verde to bring a five-game win streak to a shuddering halt.

They'll be no match for Serbia though, who should be at the races with their first World Cup game not until next Thursday, so they'll be going at full speed.

Dusan Vlahovic should enjoy himself, with the clinical Juventus forward the main goal threat in Mitrovic's absence.

With the likes of Dusan Tadic and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to supply him and likel Luka Jovic partnering Vlahovic up top, a strong starting XI could easily stick a few goals away before coming off for a breather.

Jovic plays second fiddle to Mitrovic, naturally, but he's scored in three of his last four starts for his country, with two of those being friendlies against Qatar so he knows how to bully poorer opposition.

With Mitrovic still a doubt there's also a possible place to play for, and I think Jovic starts this game so will happily take 13/10 on him finding the net.

Vlahovic has scored in five of his last nine games for Serbia, and again takes care of business against weaker teams - they may be flat track bullies but Bahrain is certainly a flat track they can make the most of.

We'll pitch the the goalscoring duo in with Serbia to be leading at half-time, as there'll be plenty of changes so they'll have to impress while they have the chance.
