Qarabag FK v Ferencvaros
Wednesday 3rd August, 17:00
Hitchin and Cambridge both scored yesterday, unfortunately only one each and not enough to secure the Over 3.5 Goals bet.
I once got gazumped on a flat in Hitchin, and the garden city of Hertfordshire once again left me in a blizzard of disappointment.
It's Champions League Qualifying action tonight as I say farewell from my brief stint and hand the baton back to Kev Hatchard.
Plenty of goals was the order of the day last night in the five Champions League qualifiers, with Europa League winners Rangers the only team that failed to register with a blank.
Ferencvaros started their domestic Hungarian League campaign at the weekend with a 1-0 win against Puskas FA FC, but we have seen plenty of goals from the Green Eagles as they hit five past Tobol in the first round and five over two legs against Slovan Bratislava in the previous round.
And here's a bit of trivia for you, a former player at my old club and headteacher at my school George Robb was a Spurs amateur in 1953 and played outside left in the match of the century at Wembley against Hungary when losing 6-3. Imagine being an amateur and lining up against Ferenc Puskas!
Franck Boli for Ferencvaros hasn't quite got a Puskas record, but he has a good rate, and hit seven in 12 last term - including a double in the Champions League against Young Boys, and the previous season he hit 11 in 21 appearances, with goals against Juventus and two against Molde. So we have him on our side with the Over 2.5 Goals considered at 1.8810/11.
Qarabag have been equally exciting in front of goal thus far, with 5-1, 3-2 and 2-2 scorelines from their four Champions League games, but the home win price at 2.26/5 looks more tempting than playing the Overs, and considering they enjoyed a decent run in the Europa Conference last time - before falling to Dimitri Payet's (former hero) Marseille, that looks far more tempting.
The hosts also have Brazilian forward Kady, who with four in five in the competition so far, can set us on our way.
