Derry City v Cork City
Friday 24 June, 19:45
River Plate put us through the ringer last night, conceding a goal in the first minute at home to Instituto. However, Martin Demichelis' side came roaring back to win 3-1 and cover the Asian Handicap.
We'll head to the Republic of Ireland now, because Derry City are up against Cork City in the Irish Premier, and the hosts have been stumbling in the title race.
Derry are six points off the leaders Shamrock Rovers, and the Candystripes have been struggling for a while. They have won just six of their last 14 games, and they have drawn their last two home matches 0-0 against Shelbourne and Bohemians, sides who are well behind in the battle for top spot.
In terms of big victories, they are thin on the ground for Derry. They have only won by more than one goal in six of their 20 league games, and two of those successes were against rock-bottom UCD.
Visitors Cork City are in the relegation play-off spot at present, but they are making a fist of staying up. The newly-promoted side have won four of their last five games, including a remarkable 1-0 victory against table-topping Shamrock Rovers. They haven't lost a game by more than one goal since a 5-0 hammering at Bohemians on May 1.
I'll use the Sportsbook's Bet Builder to back Cork City +2 on the Handicap and Over 7.5 Corners at 1.8810/11. Both teams' games in the top flight are averaging above eight corners this season, and as long as that threshold is met, we only lose if Derry win by two goals or more.
