Chesterfield v Barnet
Saturday 11 November, 15:00
Our losing run came to an end last night, as Gladbach hammered Wolfsburg 4-0, but the industrious Jonas Wind still had a shot on target to land the Bet Builder.
We'll switch our attention to the fifth tier of English football, because the top two are facing off in the National League, as Chesterfield take on closest challengers Barnet.
Chesterfield have been the dominant force in the division so far, and the Spireites are two points clear at the top with a game in hand. They have won 11 and drawn one of their last 12 league games, and on home soil they have reeled off six straight league victories, scoring 18 goals in the process.
Barnet aren't far behind, and they have secured four road victories on the bounce, scoring at least twice in all of those successes. In the race for at least a playoff spot, they already have a 16-point cushion. Last season they finished fifth, but failed to win promotion, but coach Dean Brennan is building another successful campaign.
However, a trip to face Chesterfield is the acid test, and the hosts do seem a decent price to take the win here at 1.84/5. Paul Cook's side just dumped Portsmouth out of the FA Cup, and they have the best attack and joint-best defence in the division. They have won 11 of their last 13 regular season matches at the SMH Group Stadium.
If you want a slightly bigger price, you can use the Sportsbook to back Chesterfield to win and Over 1.5 Goals at evens. 16 of Chesterfield's 17 league games have featured two goals or more.
