Marcel Sabitzer hoping for a fast start for Dortmunf

Paul Higham thinks new signing Marcel Sabitzer can help Borussia Dortmund get off to a customary fast start to the season.

Borussia Dortmund should really have had a summer of celebrating finally ending Bayern's Bundesliga dominance, but instead they've had to stew on an epic collapse as they start all over again against Koln.

Dortmund lost the title with a home draw in the last game of the season and then lost Jude Bellingham over the summer so have to rebuild their squad and their confidence.

But with a superb record at home, in opening games of the season and against this opposition, all the signs point to BVB getting off to another flying start.

Leg 1: Dortmund to win

Dortmund won 14 of 17 home league games last year with the Bundesliga's best home record, which included a 6-1 win over Koln that saw them go 4-1 up by half-time.

They've won 18 of 23 at home against Koln - who lost top scorer Ellyes Skhiri during the summer so will seemingly struggle to better last season's 11th-placed finish.

With four wins in the last five home fixtures against Koln - this looks as good a home banker as you can find this weekend.

Leg 2: Over 3.5 goals

Winning their last eight opening games of the season, Dortmund have seen plenty of goals during those games - scoring 3+ goals in five of the last six opening day matches.

Dortmund have stuck five past Koln in three of their last five home meetings so we should see plenty of goals here.

Over 3.5 goals is probably the floor for this fixture.

Leg 3: Sabitzer goal or assist

Marcel Sabitzer didn't work out too well at Man Utd, but he could be a fine addition for Dortmund back in the Bundesliga.

The Austrian scored and had an assist in Dortmund's DFB Pokal game last weekend and could very well have a hand in a goal here.

Sabitzer has never been prolific by nature, but in Edin Terzic's side he does have Emre Can as a sitting midfielder to help release him forward.

And Dortmund play that attacking that frees up players like Sabitzer so at a nice price he's worth backing for a goal involvement.

Back Dortmund to beat Koln, over 3.5 goals & Sabitzer goal or assist @ 3/14.00
