Xabi Alonso favourite for Liverpool job
-
-
Bayer Leverkusen remain unbeaten this season and are well fancied to remain that way as Xabi Alonso continues to impress - so much so he's 2/51.40 favourite for the Liverpool job when Jurgen Klopp stands down in the summer.
Alonso is still on course to become the first manager to stop Bayern winning the league since Klopp himself, with Bayer holding a four-point lead over the bavarian giants.
Gladbach have just a point from five away trips, are 28 points behind their Rhine derby rivals so although they've scored in every away game so far, they hold out little hope of upsetting the leaders.
Bayer are without injured marksman Victor Bonniface, but Florian Wirtz is fit and with eight goals and 14 assists to his name this season is a man you want to side with.
The talented 20-year-old has registered a goal and two assists in his last two home games, so even at 8/131.61 we'll take Wirtz to have a goal involvement here.
Jeremie Frimpong is third in terms of shots on target for Bayer this season, and has had three of them in his last two home games.
Frimpong's had at least two efforts on goal in six of his last nine so there should be enough volume to add to his 19 shots on target.
It's 4/91.44 for Frimpong 1+ shot on target and we're adding that to our Bet Builder.
And let's not forget it is a derby afterll so the tackles will be flying in so it always pays to back the away side for a few fouls - esecpailly when they're struggling.
Julian Weigl will be our man for the occasion, with his 18 fouls this season he leads the team and he's already given away two fouls in the previous meeting with Bayer.
There's no reason why he can't match that in the away fixture and give away another 2+ fouls at a decent 13/82.63 - which he's also managed in two of his last three.
