It was a super Swedish start to the week for us, as Malmo's 3-1 win over Varnamo comfortably landed our BTTS bet. Now we switch our attention to another blue-chip pre-season friendly, as Bayern Munich face Liverpool.
The game brings together two coaches whose career have been intertwined for some time. Bayern's Thomas Tuchel succeeded Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp at both Mainz (not directly, there was someone in between), and Borussia Dortmund, and the two Germans have a mutual respect.
Bayern's summer has been dominated by the pursuit of Harry Kane and the exit of former Liverpool star Sadio Mane, who is moving to Saudi Arabia after one hugely disappointing season in Bavaria. Even though Kane is yet to sign (at time of writing Bayern and Spurs are around 25 million euros apart in their valuation), Bayern still have plenty of attacking quality at their disposal. Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting had a decent campaign last term, and the likes of Kingsley Coman, Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane are all potential matchwinners.
Bayern have had a mixed preseason. They thrashed Rottach-Egern 27-0 in what has become a traditional demolition of the amateur side, they lost 2-1 to Manchester City and then edged out Kawasaki Frontale 1-0 with a goal from defender Josip Stanisic.
Liverpool's midfield rebuild has been the headline of their summer. Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai have come in, while Fabinho, Naby Keita, James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and skipper Jordan Henderson have all left. The Reds are still chasing a defensive-minded midfielder, with Southampton's Romeo Lavia believed to be a top target.
The goals have been flowing in Liverpool's pre-season. They beat Karlsruhe 4-2, drew 4-4 with Greuther Fürth and thrashed Leicester 4-0. Darwin Nunez has scored four goals across those three games, while Diogo Jota has three.
Liverpool seem the more fluid and settled side at present (Bayern boss Tuchel has also questioned his side's energy levels) and I'll use the Sportsbook's Bet Builder to back Liverpool/Draw and Over 2.5 Goals at 2.1211/10 for this clash in Singapore. If you throw in a Darwin Nunez goal, the price jumps to 5.52113/25.
