Monday Football Tips: Shots pair appeal in Spain's MNF

The postponement of Leeds v Nottingham Forest means Monday Night Football fans will have to be content with this offering in La Liga.

It sees newly-promoted Almeria host an Osasuna side who have made a flying start to the new Primera Division campaign, winning three of their first four fixtures. Victory here would take them fourth.

They should fancy their chances.

Almeria have won only one of four on their top-flight return, scoring just four goals in the process.

Perhaps more significantly for props punters, they've conceded more shots per game than any other side.

It therefore makes sense to look for some value among the Pamplona-based side and Jon Moncayola stands out.

The midfielder has had nine shots in four games so far this season, including two in their only away match so far at Real Betis.

He's someone who likes to try his luck from distance and so 7/5 about him having 2+ shots here looks tempting.

I'm happy to double him up with 1+ shot for the hosts' left wing-back Sergio Akieme.

Osasuna have been strong defensively but, being at home, the onus will be on Almeria to push forward and they will likely do that via their wide men.

Akieme has got at least one shot away in his last three games and so 8/11 about someone who has played every minute of the season so far looks perfectly fair.
