Football Bet of the Day: Sparks to fly in Sweden

Swedish football fans
We're starting our week in Sweden

We're starting a new week on FBOTD, and Kevin Hatchard is taking us to Scandinavia.

AIK v IFK Goteborg
Monday 27 May, 18:10

There was Norway to victory for our Tobias yesterday, as his boys Lillestrom suffered a 2-1 defeat at Odds. While he enjoys an extended and deserved break, we'll kick off our week in nearby Sweden. Struggling AIK are up against IFK Goteborg, and I fancy goals in Stockholm.

AIK, coached by former Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers defender Henning Berg, have fallen on hard times. They were champions as recently as 2018, but they only finished 11th in the Allsvenskan last term, and they are currently 10th in the standings.

Berg has seen his team consistently leak goals in recent games. In the last month they have lost 5-0 at Malmö and 6-1 at Elfsborg, and they have leaked 18 goals in their last five games. At least they have some form at the impressive Friends Arena in the capital - AIK have won four of their five home matches in the league this term.

IFK are another stumbling giant, and they are only above the relegation zone on goal difference. A 1-0 win over Mjallby last time out was welcome, and it was only their third league victory of the campaign. Interestingly for our purposes, four of their last five league games have featured three goals or more.

I like the look of backing Over 2.5 Goals here at 2.1211/10. If you look at the last five matchdays in the top flight, nine of the ten games these two have played between them have featured three goals or more.
