Tuesday 19 May

22:30 - Spurs 9/25.50 to go down after defeat to Chelsea

Tottenham have shortened to 9/25.50 to be relegated after losing 2-1 at Chelsea on Tuesday night, meaning the battle to avoid the drop will go right down to the final day of the season on Sunday.

Spurs are still very much in the driving seat, sitting two points above West Ham with a far superior goal difference meaning that avoiding defeat at home to Everton at the weekend will be enough to secure their Premier League survival.

But should Tottenham lose to the Toffees and the Hammers beat Leeds at the London Stadium then it will be Spurs that will drop down to the Championship.

In the Relegation market West Ham are still red hot favourites for the drop at 1/81.12.

Sunday 17 May

19:30 - West Ham 1/161.06 for the drop after critical defeat

West Ham are the red hot 1/161.06 favourites to be relegated after they suffered what could prove to be a critical 3-1 defeat at Newcastle on Sunday evening.

Starting the game two points behind Tottenham and trading at 1/41.25 for the drop, Nune Espirito Santo's men got off to the worst start possible when trailing 2-0 inside 15 minutes after goals by Nick Woltemade and William Osula put the Magpies in control.

The Hammers steadied the ship after making a tactical change midway through the second half but with 25 minutes to go Osula put the game beyond recall when adding a third to make it 3-0. Valentin Castellanos scored what proved to be just a consolation goal for the away side soon after.

The result means that West Ham remain two points behind Tottenham having played a game more, and because of their far inferior goal difference it means they'll be relegated should Spurs avoid defeat at Chelsea on Tuesday night.

Tottenham can be backed at 8/19.00 to be relegated.

Tuesday 12 May

08:15 - Spurs still have matters in their own hands

Tottenham have shortened to 5/23.50 to be relegated (from 5/16.00) after drawing 1-1 with Leeds United on Monday night.

Roberto de Zerbi's men started the game in sluggish fashion and failed to register a single shot at goal in the first 25 minutes. But they improved as the game went on and took the lead early in the second half thanks to Mathys Tel's excellent long-range effort.

But Tel went from hero to villain with just over 15 minutes remaining when he needlessly gave away a penalty which Dominic Calvert-Lewin converted.

And it could have been much worse for Spurs but for a brilliant point-blank save from Antonin Kinsky to deny Sean Longstaff close to full time.

The result means Tottenham are two points ahead of West Ham with both clubs having two games remaining. Crucially however, Spurs have a far superior goal difference which could come in to play in what is becoming a fascinating battle to avoid relegation.

The Hammers can move out of the drop zone with a win at Newcastle on Saturday before Tottenham go to Chelsea three days later. West Ham can be backed at 1/41.25 to be relegated.

Sunday 10 May

19:20 - West Ham at point of no return

West Ham fell deeper into relegation trouble and are now 1/91.11 for the drop after losing narrowly at home to title-chasing Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

The Hammers remain 18th in the table, one point behind Tottenham, but crucially they have played a game more than Spurs and have a much inferior goal difference.

This means that should Tottenham beat a Leeds team that are now safe from relegation at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday night, then the Hammers will need to win their two remaining games to even have a chance of securing their Premier League status.

Spurs drifted to 5/16.00 to be relegated following West Ham's defeat.

Monday 4 May

17:45 - Forest ease relegation worries

The battle to avoid relegation now looks like being between just two teams after Nottingham Forest beat Chelsea 3-1 on Monday afternoon.

The victory keeps Forest 16th in the table, but they're now six points above West Ham in 18th with a far superior goal difference, meaning that should they take a maximum of just two points from their three remaining games then the Hammers would have to win all three of their games to survive.

After today's result Forest drifted to 170.0169/1 on the Betfair Exchange to be relegated which effectively means that both the punters and layers believe they will almost certainly secure their Premier League staus for next season.

That leaves either West Ham or Tottenham to joing Wolves and Burnley in next season's Championship, and on the Betfair Sportsbook it's the Hammers who trade as long odds-on favourites for the drop at 1/71.14. Spurs can be backed at 10/34.33.

12:00 - Huge win for Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur are out to 7/24.50 in the Premier League Relegation market after they defeated Aston Villa 2-1 at Villa Park on Sunday night.

Spurs grabbed their first win in 2026, and their first win under new boss Roberto de Zerbi, when they scored late in the game to beat rock-bottom Wolves last week, and they were given a huge boost on Saturday when fellow strugglers West Ham lost 3-0 at Brentford.

With Aston Villa having a huge Europa League semi-final second leg in midweek boss Unai Emery made a host of changes to his starting XI and Tottenham took full advantage, racing into a 2-0 lead before seeing the game out comfortably.

The victory moved them one point above West Ham in the table, and crucially they have a much superior goal difference.

Should the Matchday 36 fixtures go as the Betfair Match Odds expect, then Spurs could make it three wins on the spin with a victory over Leeds while the Hammers are expected to lost at home to title-chasers Arsenal.

That would give Tottenham a four-point cushion, and because of their superior goal difference it would mean West Ham would need to win both of their remaining games to stand any chance of survival.

The Hammers can be backed at 1/51.20 to go down, while the only other team in the equation, Nottingham Forest - who play Chelsea at Stamford Bridge later today - are the outsiders of the trio at 14/115.00.
