Premier League football tips and predicitions

12:30 - Tottenham v Man Utd: Visitors key to an even-money tip

Lewis Jones: United's last nine games across all competitions have averaged 3.78 goals per 90, something backed up by the underlying numbers which are coming in at 3.7 goals per 90. In seven of those nine matches United have managed to score two or more goals - that's a 78 per cent hit rate.

With United being such a highlights-reel team, the smartest way to back them in these types of fixtures is to take the result out of the equation - they can't be trusted yet - despite how temping the 1.9 on the Betfair Exchange is for them on the draw no bet market.

Where the value lies is in their team total goals line where we can get [Evens] on them clearing the over 1.5 goals line for the eighth time in their last 10 matches.

15:00 - Everton v Fulham: Alan Shearer's prediction

Alan Shearer: It was a good result for Fulham last time out. They had to win and did very comfortably. It'll be very different going to Everton with the way they play and the stadium.

I know they were beaten at home by Tottenham the last time they were there, but I do think it'll be different this time and that's why I'll go for an Everton win.

I think Everton will be fine from relegation but they're desperate for a centre-forward and they need someone who can put the ball in the net, which is easier said than done. If they can get someone in January to help that then they'll be fine but if they don't, it'll be a tough season. I'd be convinced they have enough to stay away from relegation.

Alan's Prediction: Everton Win

15:00 - West Ham v Burnley: Back Wilson to score

The Opta Stat: Callum Wilson only has more Premier League goals against current club West Ham (12) and Everton (8) than he does against Burnley (7), scoring six goals in his last four starts against the Clarets. Wilson has also scored in five of his last seven starts against newly promoted teams (five goals).

17:30 - Sunderland v Arsenal: Back Merino to strike

Mark O'Haire: Another Arsenal win alongside a clean sheet holds plenty of appeal at odds-against quotes when the Gunners travel to surprise package Sunderland on Saturday. However, it's difficult to dismiss 12/5 quotes on makeshift striker Mikel Merino getting on the scoresheet at the Stadium of Light after his double in midweek.

With Victor Gyokeres absent through injury, plus Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, Nodi Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli also unavailable for the visitors, Merino appears the default option having now notched nine times for club and country this term in just 1,093 minutes - that's scoring every 121 minutes on average in 2025/26. The central striking option for a team that's priced up as 4/11 shots to win should never be as big as 17/10, giving us a great value edge for the Wearside showdown.

20:00 - Chelsea v Wolves: Make Moises the main man at 7/1

Mark Stinchcombe: Wolves sacked head coach Vitor Pereira last weekend following their 3-0 defeat to Fulham after failing to win any of their 10 Premier League games this season. With no new manager yet to appointed, I'm happy to continue to rate Wolves as they are - one of the worst sides in the league. Bottom of the table, they're currently eights point adrift of safety and rank as a bottom three side based on expected points. Defensively they are the worst side in the division having conceded the most goals in 22.

A look at Chelsea's top scorers this season across all competitions versus their odds makes for interesting reading:

  • Moises Caicedo (4) - 7/1
  • Enzo Fernandez (4) - 2/1
  • Joao Pedro (3) - 11/10
  • Estevao (3) - 17/10
  • Tyrique George (3) - 7/4

So where's the value against the leagues worst defence? Moises Caicedo at 7/1 please.

EFL tips and predictions

15:00 Championship - Middlesbrough v Birmingham: Back Blues

Jack Critchley: Birmingham were superb on Tuesday night as they dismantled Millwall at St. Andrews. Chris Davies has found an effective system and the combination of Jay Stansfield and Marvin Ducksch works well. Although using Tomoki Iwata at right-back is far from ideal, the Japanese midfielder is a hard worker and has done an effective job in an unfamiliar role. This has allowed Tommy Doyle to step into midfield and he has complimented Seung-Ho Paik.

Brum look confident and have won three of their last four. They should be able to take at least a point from this game.

15:00 L1 - Rotherham v Lincoln: Back Millers to extend strong record

Alan Dudman: This century, Rotherham United have won 12 of their 14 league games against Lincoln City (D1 L1), scoring 1.93 goals on average per fixture during that time and yet are 5/2 big outsiders in the face of history.

The home form of the Millers is just enough to keep them onside, against a good team in Lincoln, but Rotherham have lost just once this term and conceded eight in seven matches, so it might not be a 90 minutes on Saturday made for blissful viewing.

Lincoln have failed to score in each of their last two away league games and will be looking to avoid going goalless in three in succession for the first time since December 2022, which again backs up the idea this could be a low-scorer.

European football tips and predictions

17:00 Serie A - Juventus v Torino: Back the visitors in derby

Kevin Hatchard: While Juventus are only four points off top spot in Serie A, they haven't won any of their four Champions League games, the latest of which was a 1-1 draw with Sporting in midweek. Despite bringing in Lois Openda and Jonathan David in the summer, Juve are still fielding Dusan Vlahovic in attack, a player with high wages that they have been trying to shift for several transfer windows.

This Turin derby against Torino looks a tricky prospect. Il Toro are coached by the experienced Marco Baroni, and he has overseen just three defeats in ten to start the league season. Torino have drawn at Bologna and Lazio, won at Roma and edged out the champions Napoli 1-0, so there shouldn't be any fear ahead of this fixture.

Juventus have only managed two wins by a multiple-goal margin in the league, and although Torino's recent trips to Allianz Stadium have been generally disastrous (they have lost seven of the last nine), I'm happy to deal with the here and now and back Torino +1.0 on the Asian Handicap at 2.05.
