  • City can win and get to within one point of Liverpool

  • Foden to find net against Frank's men again

  • Bees can get on the scoresheet at the Etihad

Manchester City must quickly move on from Saturday's 1-1 draw at home to Chelsea and win this match.

This time they are up against west London opponents who should be easier to beat.

It will be a surprise if the hosts do not seize the opportunity to leapfrog Arsenal and get to within a point of Liverpool in the title race.

Pep Guardiola's men are the favourites at around evens on the Betfair Exchange to win the league this season.

Leg 1 - Back Man City -1 v Brentford

Brentford have fond recent memories of the Etihad after they won this fixture 2-1 last season. That was City's only defeat in 37 matches at home but it is important to note the circumstances.

It was the final game of the season, City had already wrapped up the title and had a Champions League final to save themselves for.

The more reliable indicator of how Tuesday's contest may unfold is probably City's 3-1 win over Thomas Frank's team a couple of weeks ago in the corresponding fixture.

The German will alarmed by his team's run of 10 defeats in their last 13 league fixtures (W3), although they can still turn it on occasionally and were surprise 2-0 winners at Wolves last time on the road.

A City team still fuming after dropping two points at the weekend, however, is a different order of opponent and we will back City -1.

Leg 2 - Back Phil Foden to score

Erling Haaland had nine shots against Chelsea and failed to score any of them. He must be finished then.

You may think so, reading some of the reactions to Saturday's match, but the Norwegian is a dangerous man to write off and it would surprise nobody if he were to bounce back here.

Haaland is 4/91.44 to score but for our Bet Builder we prefer the 21/103.10 on Phil Foden.

The England man has scored five against Brentford and netted a hat-trick in the match two weeks ago. He also failed to score against Chelsea and will want to get back among the goals here.

Leg 3 - Back both teams to score

Can Brentford muster a goal at the Etihad? As mentioned, they got two last time and one in the corresponding fixture.

In Ivan Toney they have a striker who has scored in both of his Premier League away games for Brentford this season - against Tottenham and Wolves - since he returned from his ban.

City, meanwhile, have fallen behind in 11 of their 24 Premier League games this season and have kept just one clean sheet in their last five in the English top flight.

With all those factors in mind, we will complete the treble with a bet on Yes in the Both Teams to Score market.

Back Man City -1, Foden to score any time & BTTS Yes @ 7/18.00
