What has happened to Chelsea?

At the beginning of the campaign, under Enzo Maresca, Chelsea looked like one of the most tactically coherent sides in the league.

There was structure, repetition in patterns of play and a clear sense of what they were trying to be. It wasn't perfect, but it was organised and progressive enough to see why they were backed as genuine contenders to win the Premier League at one stage.

Fast forward to now and it's difficult to recognise that team.

Chelsea arrive at Anfield on a run of six straight Premier League defeats, with just one goal scored in that sequence.

Watching them recently, the biggest issue isn't even individual errors. It's that the collective picture has vanished.

There's no clear structure in possession and far too many players going through the motions as opposed to executing a defined plan.

They just don't look like they know what they are anymore.

That's where Maresca's influence feels so noticeably absent in how they're playing right now.

With an FA Cup final on the horizon and a summer World Cup looming, focus levels are always going to be tested. That's human nature. But right now, Chelsea look like a side already mentally drifting towards what comes next rather than dealing with what's in front of them.

From a betting perspective, you're effectively weighing up a Liverpool side with intensity, structure and home advantage against a Chelsea team that looks short of identity, confidence and cohesion.

It's why the market is moving strongly towards a home win and at 4/51.80 is certainly a starting point for a Bet Builder play.

Szoboszlai a shots master

When building a Bet Builder for this, one angle that continues to stand out is Dominik Szoboszlai to have 2+ shots.

It's become one of those selections that keeps quietly cashing without much fuss.

The Hungarian midfielder has been the shining light and driving force in the Liverpool midfield. In a side full of attacking weapons. He's the perfect example of what a top-class modern midfielder should look like of capable of dictating tempo, pressing with intensity and arriving in dangerous areas with real intent.

The 2+ shots line has landed in seven of his last eight matches, which tells you this isn't a fluke trend, it's a consistent feature of his role. He's encouraged to arrive on the edge of the box, take responsibility when Liverpool sustain pressure and pull the trigger

Given how disjointed Chelsea have looked structurally, Szoboszlai should find opportunities to test the goalkeeper.

Caicedo is a walking yellow card in this mood

The final leg revolves around Moises Caicedo and his prospects of picking up a card.

He is a walking embodiment of Chelsea's mood swings this season.

Two bookings in his last two outings only reinforce the picture of a midfielder living permanently on the edge of intervention.

And that's really the key with Caicedo. This isn't a case of random indiscipline or heat-of-the-moment silliness. It's structural. He's the one tasked with putting out counters before they become chances. When Chelsea are open - and they often have been in recent weeks - he's the first responder sprinting into situations that are already half-won by the attacker.

Fourteen yellow cards across the campaign tells its own story.
