Premier League survival in Spurs' hands
West Ham's survival hopes hang by a thread.
They played Newcastle on Sunday needing a point at least and lost 3-1. Now the Hammers are two points behind Spurs with a goal-difference of -22 and Tottenham's is -9.
So, Roberto De Zerbi's side essentially only need a point at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday but three would guarantee their survival with a game to spare.
This is the biggest test of De Zerbi's Tottenham side. They come into this clash four unbeaten, drawing with Brighton and Leeds and beating Aston Villa and Wolves.
Tight match odds doesn't hold much betting appeal
Chelsea can be backed at 1/12.00 via the Betfair Sportsbook Match Odds, the draw is 13/53.60 as is the away win.
At these prices, I'd be leaning towards getting the visitors on side - not that I would want to try and call this one.
For context, the Blues are 25/126.00 to finish in the top six and Spurs are 9/110.00 to be relegated.
Cards are on the cards
Given the context of this clash and the referee appointment, it isn't unreasonable to fancy a game as violent as the infamous Battle of the Bridge in 2016.
There were four goals and 11 cards that evening. The game was equally as important for Spurs as this one is, just for different reasons. They needed to win at Chelsea to keep their faint hopes of a title alive and the Blues did everything they possible could to stop them.
More of the same on Tuesday please Chelsea.
The referee is Stuart Atwell, he has dished out 4.63 cards per game across 24 top flight appearances this term - making him the most prolific for cards in the league.
Tottenham have picked up the most yellow cards in the league, Chelsea have picked up the third most and the most red cards.
This game just absolutely stinks of cards.
Four candidates for a card including a 100/1101.00 bookings ACCA
Kevin Danso looks the most likely candidate to be shown a card at the prices available.
He is 2/13.00 with the Betfair Sportsbook but is as short as 11/102.11 with some firms.
Back Kevin Danso to be shown a card
Danso has eight cards in 1,312 minutes of Premier League action which is a cards per 90 average of 0.57. Maybe that 11/102.11 elsewhere is worth taking then.
What's more, he has picked up four cards in his last four starts and is expected to partner Micky van de Ven at the heart of the Spurs defence.
As for Chelsea, Enzo Fernandez's price of 3/14.00 looks the standout value to be shown a card.
Back Enzo Fernandez to be shown a card
He has a Premier League cards per 90 average of 0.25 - which makes this price bang on the nose - but this season he has nine cards in the league and has picked up two cautions in his last two appearances.
Naturally, the card double appeals at 10/111.00 but I am also going to be even greedier by throwing another two players into the mix.
Back Danso and Fernandez card double
Pedro Porro's price of 11/43.75 could be worth a nibble. He has nine cards (0.31 cards per 90) this season.
Chelsea's serial offender Moisés Caicedo is worth a go at 11/53.20 as well. The Colombian has picked up 12 cards in 31 league appearances this term.
Putting Porro and Caicedo alongside Fernandez and Danso pays out at 104/1105.00 with the Sportsbook.
Both the 10/111.00 double and the 104/1105.00 four-fold are industry best prices as well.
Back Danso, Fernandez, Pedro Porro and Moises Caicedo to be shown cards
