Horse racing at Royal Ascot
It's day two at Royal Ascot and our tipsters have bets for the big races

"He is actually very well handicapped on his 2021 form (was rated 9lb higher than this in May 2021), he will love the ground, he has that course/race form and his price is clearly the clincher. He is 33/1 with the Sportsbook, but he looks a win-only play on the exchange to me at 46.0 or bigger."

ATP Halle Tips: Tie breaks expected when Kyrgios and Tsitsipas clash

Nick Kyrgios v Stefanos Tsitspas, 14:20

Round two of the Cinch Championships and the Terra Wortmann Open is in-play on Wednesday on the ATP Tour and Sean Calvert has two more bets to consider on day three, starting with a match with a Greek theme...

Sean says: "Assuming that Kyrgios doesn't go off the rails again he looks to have a great chance against Tsitsipas in a match-up that (at main level) has produced a whopping 0.67 tie breaks per set on hard courts.

"Both men have held serve 94% of the time in their two main level meetings and Kyrgios has been particularly ineffective on return, produced just 0.11 break point chances per game (Tsitsipas poor as well on 0.28).

"So, on grass, with Kyrgios holding serve 90% of the time in his main level career on this surface and Tsitsipas 87% of the time and the Australian breaking 12% of the time and the Greek 13% of the time, tie breaks seem pretty likely.

"I rarely relish taking short prices when Kyrgios is involved, but 3.55/2 about there being over 1.5 tie breaks in this match seems fair enough on a day where not many big-priced wagers appeal."

Sean's bet: Back over 1.5 tie breaks in Kyrgios v Tsitsipas @ 3.55/2

Ryan Moore: Full of hope for Bay Bridge in Prince of Wales's Stakes

Royal Ascot, 15:40

Betfair Ambassador Ryan Moore rides the favourite in the big race on day two at Royal Ascot, so here's what our man has to say about his chances...

"Ryan says: "This is probably a tougher task for him than the betting suggests, but you have to be going into this race full of hope after what he did at Sandown.

"Don't get me wrong, he will have to raise his game again as he meets genuine Group 1 opposition here - they have all won in the highest grade - and the Japanese Derby and Sheema Classic winner Shahryar in particular could prove to be a fair stumbling block. But we all saw what my horse did at Sandown, and you'd hope there is more to come from him given his profile, which is possibly not the case with the others.

"This will be the quickest ground he has raced on, but I see no reason why it should be a problem. We will see soon enough, though."

Ryan's Ride: Bay Bridge @ 2.01/1

Tony Calvin: What's The Story? Huge price in the Royal Hunt Cup

Royal Ascot, 17:00

Tony Calvin lines up four bets on Wednesday, including two double figure prices in the Royal Hunt Cup, starting with What's The Story at a big price...

Tony says: ""What's The Story (Ascot, 17:00) is due to go down 3lb in future handicaps, which is not ideal, but he did finish fourth in this race on fast ground in 2018 and he has come down the weights for some solid efforts this season.

Tony's bet: Back What's The Story @ 46.045/1

Wednesday Football Tips: Alvarez key to River goals flowing

Colon v River Plate, 23:00

After a hugely successful season for our daily column, we enter the summer campaign with a trip to Argentina to check out Man City striker Julian Alvarez.

Paul Higham says: "The Argentina top flight season is only two games old and neither side has managed a victory yet with both teams drawing their opening two matches.

"What's more of a surprise for the more illustrious River Plate is that they've failed to score with two 0-0s so far - especially when Man City striker Julian Alvarez is in their ranks.

"The 22-year-old scored SIX (6!) goals for River Plate in their 8-1 Copa Libertadores victory over Peruvian side Alianza Lima last month, before heading to Europe to play for Argentina."

Paul's bet: Back Julian Alvarez to score & over 2.5 goals in Colon v River Plate with Bet Builder at around 3.39/4
