Right then, the new summer season of football starts here! It's a short bridge season before the new domestic campaign gets underway again but football never stops around the globe.

And we do have a Premier League theme as we head off to Santa Fe in Argentina to take in Colon versus River Plate.

The Argentina top flight season is only two games old and neither side has managed a victory yet with both teams drawing their opening two matches.

What's more of a surprise for the more illustrious River Plate is that they've failed to score with two 0-0s so far - especially when Man City striker Julian Alvarez is in their ranks.

The 22-year-old scored SIX (6!) goals for River Plate in their 8-1 Copa Libertadores victory over Peruvian side Alianza Lima last month, before heading to Europe to play for Argentina.

It meant he missed River's first league game of the season but even he couldn't break down Atletico Tucuman on Sunday, when he played 90 minutes and hit the target once from three shots.

Marcelo Gallardo's River Plate have lost just twice in their last 22 away games in all competitions, while Colon haven't lost at home to Wednesday's opponents in the last six meetings in Santa Fe.

But while the result is up in the air, we should at least have goals in this one, as Colon's last six games have seen both sides score, along with four of the last seven for River.

Over 2.5 goals has also landed in five of six for Colon and four of six for River, and with Alvarez back up to full speed he'll likely help the visitors rediscover their scoring touch.

Over 2.5 goals here is 1.910/11 with both teams to score priced up at 1.84/5.

Alvarez is 2.47/5 anytime goalscorer and the undoubted pick of the pack as he counts down the games before moving to the Premier League champions.
