Football Bet of the Day: Lille to go big on goals

Rio Ave beat Boavista 2-1 in Portugal last night to land our win bet. Today, we're making a return trip to France where we hope to make up for Friday's disappointment in St Etienne with some fireworks in Lille.

Marseille's first seven Ligue 1 games of the season have produced 32 goals. Last term, Rudi Garcia's men won 5-1 at Lille and we fancy there are more goals on the way as they head to Stade Pierre-Mauroy this evening.

Marseille's first three away matches have finished 1-3, 3-2 and 2-4. Going back into last term, 9/10 road trips have delivered Over 2.5 Goals, with six of the most recent seven reaching Over 3.5 Goals. L'OM start as favourites for this one, despite conceding on all 10 of those trips.

Christophe Galtier's hosts have scored at least twice in each of their last six home games. They've won 3/3 at the Pierre-Mauroy this term and should be confident of finding ways through a Marseille defence that is likely to be missing key players including Adil Rami.

Even without the help of such obliging visitors as Marseille, three of those six matches got to Over 3.5 Goals. At the back, Lille have managed just one clean sheet in 13 home games under Galtier. We really like the big price on another four match goals or more tonight.
