"IBV have won five league games in a row, and they have averaged two goals per game over their last nine outings."
After an agonising near-miss in Sweden, Kev's looking for a winner at evens in Iceland.
Hosts to keep on winning
IBV v Grotta
Friday 09 July, 19:00
It was a tough one to take in Sweden, as three of the four goals we needed arrived in the first 42 minutes, but there were no further strikes in Torns' 2-1 win at IFK Malmo last night. That one will sting for a while, but we move on.
We'll make the short leap to Iceland now, because we are once again in search of goals. In-form IBV are facing Grotta, and it could well be an entertaining victory for the hosts.
IBV won back-to-back titles in the late 90s, and completed a league and cup double in 1998, but they haven't won the title since. They have however made an excellent start to this campaign, taking 22 points from ten games to lie just six points off top spot. They have claimed maximum points from their last five league matches. Their rise is all the more remarkable when you consider they lost their first two games of the season. Since then they have rattled in 18 goals in nine matches.
Grotta stopped a run of four straight defeats by beating Vikingur Olafsvik 3-2 last time out, but their away form is a big concern. They have lost four of their five away matches, including the last three. Four of their five away matches saw an Over 2.5 Goals bet land, and that's true of eight of their 10 1.Deild matches this term.
I'll back IBV to continue their winning streak, but for there to also be at least three goals in the match. We can back that combination at evens on the Sportsbook.
