"Australia don't need to win this, but they have plenty of players who are keen to impress ahead of September's next qualifying stage."
We're making a rare trip to Kuwait, as Australia look to wrap up the latest stage of World Cup qualifying in style.
Aussies to keep 100% record
Australia v Jordan
Tuesday 15 June, 17:00
Our Finns didn't fly as high as we needed them to last night, as HJK's 1-0 win at Mariehamn fell a goal short of covering the Asian Handicap.
We'll move to the other side of the world now, because Australia are looking to wrap up the second stage of World Cup qualifying with a 100% record, as they face Jordan.
Graham Arnold's Socceroos haven't put a foot wrong so far. They have won all seven of their matches, scoring 27 goals and conceding just two.
This match will take place in Kuwait City, but Australia are still worthy favourites, having already beaten Jordan 1-0 earlier in the qualifiers.
Jordan have been the second-best side in the section, but they aren't certain of finishing second, with Kuwait only three points behind. They have to push for a win, as anything less could see them eliminated if results in other sections go against them. Jordan have built their campaign on strong defence, having leaked just two goals in their last seven qualifiers.
There are two ways to play this. We could either back Australia to win and Under 3.5 Goals on the Bet Builder at 2.0421/20, a bet that's based on the fact that both defences have been strong, and that there was just one goal between them in their last meeting.
However, I'm a little concerned that Jordan might need to win this if other results start to go against them, and that might make for a more open game than the market suggests. Therefore, I'll back Australia -1.0 on the Asian Handicap at 2.0421/20. Six of their seven qualifying victories have been by a margin of two goals or greater.
