Football Accumulator Tips: Back Andy Robson's 5/1 Saturday Acca

Man City boss Pep Guardiola
Pep's Man City side can win another FA Cup on Saturday

Two cup finals feature in Andy Robson's acca this weekend, alongside a clash from the final round of Serie A fixtures...

  • Celtic can pip Rangers to another title

  • City to win FA Cup with room to spare

  • Plenty of goals in a Milan victory

FA Cup Final Superboost

In what is a repeat of the 2023 FA Cup Final, the two halves of Manchester collide once again at Wembley on Saturday, in what could be Erik Ten Hag's final match in charge of the Red Devils.

Pep Gurdiola's Man City are looking for a domestic double following yet another Premier League crown and are buoyed by the fact they did the league double over their rivals this season.

An FA Cup Final calls for an epic Betfair Superboost this weekend, and we are heading to Bruno Fernandes to come up with the goods for us this time out due to his foul count. Captain Bruno averages 2.0 foul involvements per game this season (fouls committed + to be fouled) whilst he has both committed and has been fouled in each of his last two games, and in three of his last five.

Indeed, if we look at the FA Cup and Wembley specifically, this has landed in four of his five appearances in the competition, and, in three of his last four outings at Wembley.

One of which was in this exact fixture against Manchester City last season.

He has either committed (21) or has been fouled (12) 33 times in his last 10 Manchester derbies, managing both in 70% of those games (7/10).

Celtic v Rangers
Saturday, May 25th
Kick Off: 15:00
Scottish Cup Final

Leg #1: Celtic to win @ 4/51.80

Look for Celtic to be too strong for Rangers in Saturday's Scottish Cup final, which will be the fifth meeting of the teams this season.

The Hoops have gone undefeated against their Glasgow rivals so far this term, although all three of their wins have come by just a single goal. Nevertheless, they hold a clear upper hand between these two giants, having also thrown away a 3-1 advantage in a 3-3 draw at Ibrox on April 7.

Celtic's form is clearly superior to their opponents' too. They approach this match having won 10 of their last 11 matches, scoring at least three goals in seven of their last nine Premiership games.

On the contrary, Rangers have won only one of their last three and have picked up a disappointing six victories from their last 14, showing that this is not simply a blip.

While it is expected that the injury problems the Gers have suffered in recent weeks will have at least partially cleared for this outing, there have to be doubts over the sharpness and match fitness of many of their stars.

Celtic, by contrast, are expected to have everyone present and correct for this encounter, which will see one team crowned double winners and the other left bitterly disappointed.

Man City v Man United
Saturday, May 25th
Kick Off: 15:00
FA Cup Final

Leg #2: Man City (-1) handicap @ 5/61.84

The FA Cup final will see Man City and Man United clash at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

Following an incredible run of form, in which Pep Guardiola's side have won all of their last nine league matches by a minimum of two goals, Man City have been crowned as Premier League champions for a fourth consecutive season. The hosts excelled at both ends across this run, scoring an average of 3.66 goals per game while conceding an average of just 0.67.

Meanwhile, Man United have had a dismal 2023/24 campaign, with Erik ten Hag's men finishing in eighth place in the Premier League. Unlike their upcoming opponents, the Red Devils have lacked consistency in recent months, failing to win in seven of their last eleven outings across all competitions.

Guardiola has experienced real joy when facing Man United under ten Hag, with his side winning four of their five encounters with the Red Devils since the Dutchman's arrival. It is also worth noting that Man City have beaten their neighbours by at least two goals in both of this season's Manchester derbies. Thus, we expect Guardiola's men to win by a margin of at least two goals here.

Milan v Salernitana
Saturday, May 25th
Kick Off: 15:00
Serie A

Leg #3: : Milan to win & over 3.5 goals @ 5/61.84

The Italian Serie A final day fixtures are spread over a couple of days and on Saturday Milan will play their final home match of the season against already relegated Salernitana.

There has been a clear trend across all divisions that have been researched over the last few weeks that teams that have already been relegated tend to lose their final match of the season, and if they are away from home, the trend is exacerbated. Recent examples in other leagues include all three Premier League relegated teams losing, including a 2-4 and 0-3, both Bundesliga relegated teams losing, including a 1-4 away defeat, and Clermont losing 0-5 away on the final day in France.

However, this trend does not just extend to this season. It is a trend observed over the last decade of fixtures across multiple leagues, so it is based on a large amount of evidence.

Salernitana have been down for a while, and have actually used that time to open up a little more. The bottom side have scored themselves in their last three Serie A matches, including away at Juventus. A goal for the underdogs would be welcome for this bet, and Milan have been quite loose defensively of late. The Rossoneri have conceded seven in their last three, and because they are safe in second, they have the freedom to know that they can go forward and outscore their opposition.

Milan have certainly been happy to go forward at home recently. Their expected goals have been 2.8, 2.6, and 2.6 in the last three matches, and each of those matches have gone over 4 xG in total. All of Salernitana's last three away matches have gone over 3 xG as well, so chances are certainly in the offing here, with the hope that the respective teams' shooting boots are on to carry the result over the goal line.
