Man City odds-on to complete Cup double

The world famous FA Cup will have blue ribbons on it come Saturday evening but the question is of what shade?

Manchester City are 4/111.36 to add the FA Cup to the EFL Cup they won earlier this season, while Chelsea are 21/103.10 to end a season of chaos, which has featured three managers, with an unlikely piece of silverware.

With City trailing Arsenal in the title race, and speculation that Pep Guardiola could leave in the summer, this could prove to be the best chance of a glorious swansong to his brilliant 10 year reign.

That said, this is City's fourth FA Cup final in a row and they have lost the last two. The only team to lose three consecutive FA Cup finals? Chelsea.

City have excellent recent record against Chelsea

Chelsea must be sick of the sight of Manchester City. Pep's men haven't lost any of their last 13 games against the Blues in all competitions (W10 D3), their longest unbeaten run against them.

The last time Chelsea did beat City was the 2020-21 UEFA Champions League final when Thomas Tuchel was in charge of the west Londoners.

Chelsea fail to fire at Wembley

Chelsea's last eight matches at Wembley have produced just seven goals in total (4 goals, 3 conceded) while they have failed to score in each of their last four finals at the national stadium since a fifth minute Christian Pulisic goal against Arsenal in the 2020 FA Cup final.

Doku and Fernandez are FA Cup stars

In the last two seasons of the FA Cup, no player has been involved in more goals than Man City's Jérémy Doku (3 goals, 5 assists), while Doku's five assists and 40 dribbles are the most of any Premier League player in that time.

More likely perhaps is that Erling Haaland will break his final duck for City. The Norwegian is looking to score in a final for the Premier League club for the first time - he's played in nine finals (inc. Community Shield) and had 15 shots without success.
