Celtic and Hearts set for title decider on Saturday
Celtic are 1/21.50 to win the Scottish Premiership title when they play Hearts in a final day decider on Saturday.
Hearts are the 13/102.30 outsiders in the outright title betting even though they are a point clear at the top of the table and need only to avoid defeat at Celtic Park this weekend to become the first team outside of the big two to win the Scottish title since 1985.
The Edinbrugh club are within one result of winning their first title since 1960.
It will be a thrilling end to an extraordinary season and last night's drama, which set up Saturday's decider, was not without controversey.
Hearts beat Falkirk 3-0 and, with the Bhoys deadlocked at 2-2 against Motherwell, looked set to go to Celtic Park three points clear.
But Celtic were awarded a controversial late penalty at Motherwell and Kelechi Iheanacho converted it to get his team within a point of the leaders and set up the mother of all final day fixtures.
Hearts boss Derek McInnes called the 99th minute VAR-assisted penalty call "disgusting". Now his team must use that anger as motivation to get a result in east Glasgow on Saturday.
The odds indicate that the status quo will be restored and Celtic will snatch the title by beating Hearts. Their manager Martin O'Neill is expected to walk away this summer and he would love to do so as a champion again.
But can Hearts show the resolve and composure that has seen them lead the Scottish Premiership for months? If they can do that they will be champions and this season will go down as one of the greatest ever.
You will be able to read an in-depth match preview, with the best bets for Celtic v Hearts, later this week on Betting.Betfair.
