Dan Fitch has his money on West Ham to beat Freiburg for a third time this season, as he previews the midweek Europa League action.

  • West Ham a big price against side they've beaten twice

  • Liverpool value to continue winning run

  • Expect goals in Rome

  • Sorloth in form for Yellow Submarine

Sporting Lisbon v Atalanta (Wednesday, 17:45)

Sporting overcame Young Boys 4-2 on aggregate to reach this stage. Top of the Primeira Liga, they recently beat their rivals Benfica in the Taca de Portugal. Atalanta have been performing well in Serie A this season, but they have lost their last two games against Inter and Bologna. Back Sporting double chance and both teams to score at 1/12.00.

Qarabag v Leverkusen (Thursday, 17:45)

The Bundesliga's top side travel to Qarabag, who came through a play-off thriller against Braga. Leverkusen are unbeaten in an incredible 34 games across all competitions this season (W30 D4). We have to assume the visitors will win again and you can back Leverkusen to win half-time/full-time at 1/12.00.

Back Leverkusen to beat Qarabag half-time/full-time at 1/12.00

Roma v Brighton (Thursday, 17:45)

Brighton face a dream European awayday to Roma. Though the Seagulls' domestic form has been erratic, they have performed consistently in Europe, particularly away, drawing in Marseille and winning at Ajax. Roma are much improved under Daniele De Rossi, with the goals now flowing. Combine both teams to score and over 2.5 goals at 5/61.84.

Sparta Prague v Liverpool (Thursday, 17:45)

Liverpool's squad might be stretched by their daunting fixture list, but they are still churning out wins. They will be expected to do so here, but the hosts have beaten Betis and Galatasaray at home in this competition this season. It says much for Sparta Prague's threat that Liverpool are as big as 10/111.91 to win.

Back Liverpool to beat Sparta Prague at 10/111.91

AC Milan v Slavia Prague (Thursday, 20:00)

Another team from Prague also have a glamour European tie, when Slavia travel to AC Milan. This is a tough one for the Czechs, with Milan coming off the back of a victory against Lazio. Slavia Prague lost 2-0 at Roma back in October and you can back a Milan win and under 3.5 goals at 1/12.00.

Back AC Milan to beat Slavia Prague and under 3.5 goals at 1/12.00

Benfica v Rangers (Thursday, 20:00)

Though this is a daunting match for Rangers, it is not the worst time to face Benfica, who have just been beaten 5-0 by Porto. The hosts have not lost at home since October (P15 W11 D4), but their odds are way too short under the circumstances. Avoid the result and go for over 2.5 goals at 8/111.73, which has landed in each of Rangers' last five games.

Back over 2.5 goals between Benfica and Rangers at 8/111.73

Freiburg v West Ham (Thursday, 20:00)

West Ham's latest European adventure sees them up against Freiburg again, with the Germans having reached this stage by beating Lens. The Hammers have already beaten the Bundesliga side twice during the group stage, so odds of 7/42.75 for an away win seem very generous. Particularly as David Moyes' side have their top performers back and have just won their last two Premier League games.

Back West Ham to beat Freiburg at 7/42.75

Marseille v Villarreal (Thursday, 20:00)

This is a fascinating one that could produce fireworks. Marseille have won their last three games and though it has not been a vintage season for Villarreal, they are unbeaten in seven (W3 D4), with wins against Barcelona and Real Sociedad. Avoid the result and take a chance on the Villarreal forward Alexander Sorloth finding the net at 9/43.25, with the Norwegian having scored four goals in his last two games.

Back Sorloth to score for Villarreal against Marseille at 9/43.25
