England are favourites on the Betfair Exchange to win Euro 2024 after Gareth Southgate announced his squad for this month's two internationals.
The Three Lions are 5.49/2 to go all the way in Germany next summer, marginally ahead of France at 5.79/2, while the host nation can be backed at 8.07/1, Spain at 10.09/1 and Portugal at 12.011/1.
Bowen and Wakins return for Three Lions
Southgate has named a relatively predictable squad with the likes of Harry Maguire, Kalvin Phillips and Jordan Henderson - whose inclusions last month all caused debate - all included again.
However, there are recalls for in-form forwards Jarrod Bowen and Ollie Watkins. Bowen has scored five Premier League goals for West Ham this season, while Watkins has already bagged two hat-tricks this term for Aston Villa, including one in Saturday's 6-1 thrashing of Brighton.
Bowen's Hammers teammate James Ward-Prowse is again left out, while another surprising omission is Chelsea forward Raheem Sterling, who was left out of the last squad despite some decent early season form.
Despite injury concerns, Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka is also named in the squad, though he could well withdraw if he is unfit to face Manchester City in Sunday's huge Premier League clash.
England squad in full:
Goalkeeprs: Sam Johstone, Jordan Pickford, Aaron Ramsdale
Defenders: Levi Colwill, Lewis Dunk, Marc Guehi, Harry Maguire, John Stones, Fikayo Tomori, Kieran Tirippier, Kyle Walker
Midfielders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jude Bellingham, Conor Gallagher, Jordan Henderson, Kalvin Phillips, Declan Rice
Forwards: Jarrod Bowen, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Harry Kane, James Maddison, Eddie Nketiah, Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka, Ollie Watkins
Qualification certain with win over Italy
Southgate's men have a chance to get more revenge against Italy, who beat them in the Euro 2020 final, when the Auzzuri visit Wembley on Tuesday 17 October for a Euro 24 qualifier.
The Three Lions beat Italy 2-1 in March to open their qualifyng campaign. A repeat of that victory will ensure qualification to next year's European Championships.
England will warm up for that Group C game by hosting Australia in a friendly on Friday 13, a match that should see Southgate to rest his star names and allow some of the squad members to impress.
