Can Rob Edwards inspire another upset?

Paul Robinson is aiming to head into Christmas on the back of a huge priced Acca, with this Saturday afternoon's selections coming in at a whopping 64/165.00.

  • Tired Newcastle to be beaten

  • Plymouth to win again at home

  • Boro to beat the Baggies

Leg 1 Luton (90mins) @ 7/24.50 (15:00)

Newcastle are a short price to win at Luton, but the Hatters have put in some good performances at Kenilworth Road, and Newcastle are showing serious signs of fatigue.

Eddie Howe's men were involved in another highly competitive game during the week, finally succumbing on penalties at Chelsea.

The Magpies have lost five of their eight on the road this term, and Rob Edwards' side will be desperate to go into Christmas on a high.

Leg 2 Plymouth (90mins) @ 1/12.00 (15:00)

Plymouth won at home again last weekend, and with Birmingham in town, it's hard to believe that they are even money for victory number seven of the season.

Manager, Steven Schumacher, has departed for Stoke, and while that is a concern, the form of the visitors is really poor.

Wayne Rooney's team have lost seven of their 11 since he replaced John Eustace, and the Blues have been beaten in eight of their last nine away from St Andrew's.

Leg 3 Sheff Wed (90mins) @ 1/12.00 (15:00)

The Owls looked destined for a quick return to League One, but Danny Röhl has got them back on track, and they are now just six points from safety.

Three of their last four have ended in victory, and it's seven points from he last nine available at Hillsborough - which included a visit from Leicester.

Cardiff head north having been beaten in four of their last five, and the two latest losses were to nil.

Leg 4 Middlesbrough (90mins) @ 5/42.25 (15:00)

Middlesbrough's streaky form continues, but the good news here is that they have won their last two, and are odds-against to beat West Brom at the Riverside.

The Baggies have also been a bit hit or miss, which is highlighted by the fact that there last four away from home have seen them win twice, but also lose twice.

The value bet is on the hosts for me, as their most recent results have been better, and they have home advantage.

Leg 5 Southampton (90mins) @ 8/131.61 (15:00)

The Saints are in fourth place, as they bid to bounce straight back to the Premier League. Their current 14 match unbeaten streak has helped them close the gap on the automatic promotion places to 10 points, and they can pick up another three at QPR.

The hosts had rallied with three straight wins, but they have since been held here by the poor-travelling, Plymouth, and lost 2-1 at Sheffield Wednesday.

Acca Wreckers

The first of this weekend's two teams to avoid are Tottenham, who are a bit short at 4/61.67 to beat an in-form Everton.

Sean Dyche's team were a bit unlucky to lose in the cup to Fulham during the week, but it's four straight wins in the league - all without conceding a goal.

Spurs have won their last two, but they are conceding plenty of goals this season, and could be vulnerable against the Toffees.

My second selection of teams to not include in your Accas is Norwich at 4/91.44. The Canaries have taken eight points from the last 12 available, but they have already lost four times at Carrow Road this term.

Huddersfield are the visitors, and while they are languishing down at the wrong end of the table, Darren Moore's side have lost just one of their last six, and they are unbeaten in three on their travels.
