Long Live The King

There is a palpable sense of optimism at Coventry City after local businessman Doug King's takeover of the club finally went through. This should bring an end to the instability that surrounded the club under former owners SISU, despite miraculous performances on the pitch from Mark Robins and his side.

There is said to be plenty of interest in star striker Viktor Gyokeres in this window, with Southampton and Leeds said to be among the Premier League admirers. The first test of King's ambition in the eyes of the fans will be whether he can hold on to the man who has scored 12 Championship goals already this season, but he is sure to line up here with no deal imminent.

Wagner's Ride of the Canaries

David Wagner has made a fast start to life at Norwich City and the 4-0 win at Preston last weekend had everything Canaries fans felt was missing under Dean Smith. The fans had become disillusioned with the lack of playing style at Carrow Road, but the display at Deepdale was full of intensity and attacking verve, which the travelling fans will expect to see here.

Kieran Dowell and Teemu Pukki grabbed two goals apiece in that win, but they were far from Norwich's only goal threat as they amassed 23 shots in the game. In the unlucky 1-0 defeat to Blackburn in the FA Cup, Wagner's first game in charge, they racked up 28 shots so the signs suggest Coventry will have their work cut out nullifying their clear attacking threat.

Coventry Looking To End Norwich Woes

Coventry have a desperate recent record in this fixture, winless in the five most recent league meetings (D2 L3), losing both of their last two and have won only one of their last seven games in the Championship (D3 L3).

Norwich, though, are looking to complete their first league double over Coventry City since the 1980-81 season, when both sides were in the top-flight and are looking to record consecutive Championship wins for the first time since September.

Wagner Wagon To Keep on Rolling

There is too much promise in Norwich's last two performances and they look value to win this. There is no denying the quality in this squad, and if the former Huddersfield boss has managed to unlock that then there is every chance they could embark on a run of form of promotion standard over a whole season.

Despite Coventry's patchy form, they rarely draw a blank at home, failing to find the back of the net in just one of their last 10 home Championship games. With Gyokeres in fine form and Norwich's mentality likely to make this an end-to-end encounter, backing Norwich to win and Both Teams To Score at 7/2 looks the best bet for the game.
